Agree. I was waiting for it and it has not happened, to my surprise. 

Initially I suggested that there would be politicization and depending on the group assignment of the perp we would get different depictions, but that has not turned out to be true(so far). So my initial premise was wrong. The media did it right....

I thought he did a d@mn fine job of getting away with it Usually you nab the perpetrator in 24 hours.  That it took them weeks to figure out it was him before reeling him in was pretty impressive and puts him in the top tier of quadruple murderers.

He might have gotten away with it if he'd trimmed his eyebrows.

I think it’s because this was not a hate crime like a lot of the other murders you see in the news. This is more like a serial killer type of murder.

Without a doubt.  It's dumb.  It's not a crime to hate black people (I don't.)   If you murder one we prosecute the murder, not whether or not you hate their race, which isn't a crime.

I think you get what I’m saying though. It’s easier to call those hate crimes and politicize them. The Idaho murders feel more like a serial killer type crime which almost never has anything to do with politics.

Bryan Kohberger, the man accused of killing four University of Idaho students last fall, was not at the location where the crimes took place, his defense attorneys suggested Tuesday, though they have yet to provide evidence or details about his whereabouts.

Kohberger is charged with four counts of first-degree murder in the November 13 deaths of 21-year-olds Kaylee Goncalves and Madison Mogen, 20-year-old Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin, also 20, who were fatally stabbed in their off-campus home in Moscow, Idaho. A not guilty plea has been entered on his behalf, and his trial is set for October.

“Evidence corroborating Mr. Kohberger being at a location other than the King Road address will be disclosed pursuant to discovery and evidentiary rules as well as statutory requirements. 

“It is anticipated this evidence may be offered by way of cross-examination of witnesses produced by the State as well as calling expert witnesses,” attorney Anne Taylor wrote in a Tuesday court filing.
