Every Presidency has big scandals and minor scandals. I judge this, based on what I’m reading, to be a minor scandal. But I guess we will see. If Republicans think it’s a big scandal then they’ll devote a House investigation to it. But I suspect they will stick with investigating the Hunter Biden stuff as potentially more damaging. Just a hunch.

I’m also surprised that so many people seem to believe that Biden isn’t running for re-election. He’s told friends and family that he is. And if he does decide to run again, no Democrat is going to challenge him. 
A lot could happen this year, obviously, But for the moment I think it’s reasonable to assume that Joe Biden will be the Democratic nominee.

I think a GOP house fights inflation simply by stopping Biden's spending spree.  Leaves a lot of time for investigations at that point.

There are behind-the-scenes forces at work all over the political spectrum. The far right came up with the buzzword term Deep State just to have something to use to demonize the left. Same thing with the term MSM.

I don’t agree with everything he said here. MAGA is a set of beliefs and some of them are loosely connected; not every person who describes themselves as “MAGA” believe everything that Biden described. In addition many MAGA people honestly believed that the 2020 election result was corrupt, and I wouldn’t call them anti-American for doing so. These are, IMO, major flaws in Biden’s statement. 
 

That being said, I think he was mostly accurate here. And while the speech did nothing to reduce our current divisiveness, it correctly defined IMO the main source of that divisiveness. So I think it was very important.

When the intel agencies, other federal agencies, federal law enforcement and the military and NGO’s were perceived to be under the control of the right, the left referred to them as a “shadow government “.  And they needed to be reigned in. Now that the right refers to them as the “deep state” and say they need to be reigned in. it’s just a conspiracy theory. Some of us have a decent memory.
