The National Archives asked Trump to give back the documents. He refused, hence the FBI raid needed to retrieve the documents. He had more than 300 classified documents that he had to have known were there, keeping them for some kind of gain for himself down the road.

You portray Biden as some doddering, forgetful dude with dementia and yet believe there was something more sinister than him just not knowing he had them.

Plus, his own lawyers immediately handed handed them over to the National Archives and are fully cooperating. Plus, a Trump-appointed judge will look into whether there was any criminal wrongdoing.

Actually, on the taxes what I keep hearing is "omigosh, look he only paid X-amount in taxes!!!!, what a crook!" And then I ask, what laws did he break?  And of course....none...

And then I say look, if YOU want to pay as much as possible in taxes.....you do you....but the rest of us are looking for ways to pay less, and he did it....good for him....

I get my taxes done by a tax accountant. I don't like doing taxes, I have no interest of learning tax accounting, and I don't want to do my taxes so I don't.

A couple times I mock did my own taxes and compared them to what my tax accountant did. And in the end, my tax accountant saved me tons of money because she knows what she is doing and getting me all the legal breaks I can get. 

So I will continue to go to my accountant and focus my efforts on my work that I'm good at and my personal life that I enjoy.

Seriously. If I left with ANY classified documents, hell even if I left with a patient schedule, I’d be arrested and brought up on charges. But classified documents in not only an unsecured drawer but also in a garage? Yea, that’s treason and jail time. EXPLICITLY stated in my briefings when I was in that if we left with ANY classified documents, pictures, recordings, etc. we WOULD be thrown in jail and prosecuted to the fullest extent

One explanation for this is that a box of documents has transported to the garage and that then one was removed from the grouping to be examined and not returned to the box.  That seems to indicate speciffic knowledge by someone the documents were there, but who is that someone?

So per the Biden’s there are two important distinctions between this situation and the Trump one: 

1. It was accidental, not deliberate. 
 

2. Unlike with Trump, Biden’s people have cooperated with the DOJ the whole time. 
 

IF these assertions are true (and I have no way of knowing) then while this is an embarrassment for Biden, it’s not going to be a big deal. That being said I think that given that this has now happened twice, Garland should probably appoint a special counsel.
