Putting aside the issue of Carlson’s selective editing, the fact that he’s even discussing Jan 6 in the first place is terrible for Republicans. If the GOP is to have any success in future elections, they need to move on from this event, they need to move on from all of the other Trump scandals. Frankly, they need to move on from Trump. But they can never seem to do this.

I didn't communicate my intention very well.  My main point was:  why is anyone complaining/surprised that Jimmy Kimmel of all people made a woke Lefty joke?  He was virtue signaling before it was even in vogue.  It didn't bother me; heck that joke almost wrote itself for an event like the Oscars.

And if you are wondering what is killing humor, you might want to turn around and look at your own folk.  A lot of comics won't go on college campuses at all any more, and they aren't all evil conservative comedians.  Look at any "you can't tell these jokes anymore" discussion like the current thread here and ask yourself what team has lost its humor.  Leftism is where humor goes to die.

Also I just read about the Mike Pence joke about Buttijig, it's a perfect example of the the Left being a black hole of humor:

I have to agree on this point. This was a dog and pony show that really was setup to help Democrats, for Republicans to raise it up seems counterintuitive. 

Carlson cannot seem to let it go as well.  I think he is stuck on "fair" and he needs to accept that fairness is out the window at this point, and people like him will never get fairness.  Just move on, adjust to the setup and overcome.  That is how winning is done.

The problem is, laughing along like MOST people doesn't get you attention, clicks, and shares.   Being the offended one does.   A problem for people is that the best type of comedy has that nugget of truth to them, such as stereotypes and I don't think people handle that well anymore.
