If he’s guilty of a crime then he should be indicted, But it’s still an embarrassment to the country. It was a bigger embarrassment that he was ever elected.

Still crying cause it was her turn huh

We have to keep in mind that 2017-2019 were three of the greatest years in our history. Peace and prosperity.

Can we do this will every politician now.  I would like to see that all politicians are made aware that they are no longer above the law.  They work for us and they need to be reminded.

I see no reason to possibly care about this at this point. Nothing will stick to Trump because nothing sticks to these people who make laws, have money, etc...it will end up being another wild goose chase and it will just further make the 2024 election a boondoggle. Republicans will use this for vengeance in the future, Democrats will look to make this a new norm now.

And politics will swirl further down the drain

Kind of like Biden with Ukraine and China and our open border and so many more things. Got it. Thanks for pointing that out.

Lots of issues here.

No one should be above the law though sitting Presidents ought to be immune from local prosecutions while in Office with such matters having statutes of limitations and speedy trial tolled until out of Office.

A local elected prosecutor who vowed to prosecute as part of their campaign for Office, who was not then privy to facts, who then pursues a prosecution which appears a partisan political move for the prosecutor's political gain rather than in pursuit of the enforcement function of the office concerns me.  The Office is supposed to pursue law enforcement, not be used for partisan politics.  I don't know that is what transpired here, but on the surface this troubles me.  I guess the prudent thing to do is to wait to see the indictment and the evidence.

I don't see Trump getting a fair trial in that venue.  The thing is he is so polarizing I am not sure there is any neutral venue.

Trump will, of course, not keep his mouth shut and run the process.  He will do all he can to taint any jury pool.

Likely Trump has some of the reported 30 counts coming, but the count being commonly discussed seems an improper stretch of the law.

This will not bring about the reconciliation our country so desperately needs.  This will increase polarization.

If there has been abuse of prosecutorial discretion it is sad to me that a man like Trump will be carrying the reform and martyr banner.  He is not worthy of either positiion, having so actively participated in driving us all towards a cliff.  He is the poster child for postering as a child, not for truth and justice.  His motto is My truth, My justice, and the Maga way.  Still we need justice.  Maybe the vanity of the prosecutor and the vanity of Trump will cancel each other out.  Who knows, maybe each will stroke out before this is over as both must have hearts under stress from their girth and veins just lined with plaque from their diets.

Very reasonable post. I agree with many of your concerns. And I agree that we should let this play out. As usual a lot of idiots on both sides are making a lot of assumptions based on no real information.

Yes, all the ones who commit crimes should be held accountable.

Does anyone else see the irony that the rogue godless NYC crew is doing this so close to Holy Week?

Should we block out a week or two on the calendar on either side where indictments may not be handed doen?  What about doing the same for Ramadan, Yom Kippur, Hannukah, and eid al-Fitr an d Eid al-Adha?  I suppose we may want to do the same dor wiccans and druids, those who dance among the woids, and drink fermented fluids.

But you see there was a pandemic and that affected everything...

Then when he became ex-President in 2021 the pandemic magically stopped and everything reset and there were no residual effects that were to be felt from the world being shut down effectively for 6 months to a year so everything was ruined. [/MAGAlogic]

All of a sudden, the liberals don't care about the motivation of a shooter. Gee I wonder why?

Terrible logic on your part. That's why they put you on babysitting duty I guess. :dunno:

I used the word gleeful. I don’t think anyone should be gleeful.

The guy will have the law, a jury, be a part of the system like everyone else. So yeah I am generally happy to see when people are held accountable. When they are complete it is a nice bonus.

Good---all mob connected foreign compromised  politicians who have been skirting the law for decades should be subject to this level of scrutiny.

Not saying that.  It’s just the parallels are ironic. The spiritual leader of our nation is being brought back to stand before an illegitimate tribunal that has hunted, feared and been jealous of him for years to stand trial for a predetermined sentence.  The spiritual leader will be giving himself up to rally his followers and hopefully rid our nation of the illegitimate evildoers.

I love DeSantis’ totally lame response. “Florida won’t help to extradite Trump!” Only problem is he announced that AFTER the news was already released that Trump agreed to come to New York on Tuesday. What a doosh.
