As far as I understand it, bThe felony isn't paying hush money to a pornstar.

 

Felony is found in that the Trump campaign used Trump funds to reimburse his lawyer and then give him a fat bonus on top of that for handling the hush money affair.  Labeled and treated all of that as legitimate legal expenses. Which is a big no-no.

 

Would be not too different than if Joel Osteen pays a hooker. That's fine. But you can't turn around and reclassify tax exempt funds as deductible business legal expenses when they're actually used to pay a hooker.

Honestly? When the Trump inaugural fund raised 26 million and then spent about $75 on the inaugural and kept the money?  That's far worse.   As far as I know, basically skated on that.
