This year, we are excited to bring you a number of ways that you can get involved in TDoV with us, whether you are trans, non-binary, questioning, gender non-conforming, or an ally!

We feel that trans and non-binary people are often under pressure to be 'more' than they are. Let's be proud of who the trans community are, just as they are!

 

What is Trans Day of Visibility?

TDOV takes place on March 31^st each year to celebrate trans and non-binary people and raise awareness of discrimination faced by trans people worldwide.

Increasing media backlash towards trans people has begun in the wake of the NHS GIC consultation in 2017 and the upcoming consultation on the reformation of the Gender Recognition Act expected in Spring 2018.

Here at LGBT Foundation, we are aware that there is a lot of pressure on trans and non-binary people to conform, change and prove their gender to others. We believe that all trans people, regardless of identity, expression, or orientation, are enough just as they are. Therefore, for TDoV 2018, we would like to help empower trans people to celebrate who they are, and encourage allies to voice solidarity with the trans community.

I support the trans community. But it does bother me that this monster’s manifesto is not being released. If, as many suspect, it’s some form of pro-trans, anti-Christian screed then so be it. Most reasonable people will understand that she doesn’t speak for other transgenders. There will be bigots out there of course (some have shown up in this thread!) but they are few and far between. And they would have been ignorant and bigoted regardless of this horror. 
 

So release the manifesto. Hiding it is dangerous IMO.

I tolerate.  I often do not celebrate.  I defend the rights of all as a concept.  There are those not worthy, perhaps of their rights, but if their rights are not protected then neither are mine. It goes back to the old "I vehemently disagree with your position, but i will defend to the death your right to take that position, so long as it is lawful"  Some justice in the past summed it up for me when he said your right to swing your fist ends where my nose begins.  today he would have to change that to your right to display your genitals ends where my face, and the face of my children and grandchildren begins.

Guns should never have had the right to own people. They are a menace to society in how they control people to use them to shoot other people.
