Vivek has a debators mentality. I think that shines through rather often. The ability to use words, express thoughts and debate topics quickly on your feet is a strong skill. 

Here is my concern with that.  Being gifted at debate presents as ability at first, but what is behind that? Does he really have the chops to lead?  I want to think yes, but I would like to learn alot more about him to be comfortable that his is not a paper candidate.

I agree, I'm seeing more of a showman than anything else.  He frames arguments well and doesn't back down when confronted, says some buzzwords, but I just don't trust this guy is genuine.

Is it "coming after him" in that looking at false claims to levy against him in an attempt to discredit him or is it "We're learning more about him"?

If it's the former, then feel free to clarify anything inaccurate.  I contend it's the latter.

Also I really don't think anyone needs to "come after him" since we all know Trump will be the nominee anyway.

I think you took my comment the wrong way.  I wasn’t really arguing anything only that once Vivek started rising in the polls you knew the kiddie gloves would come off towards him.  Politics is a dirty, nasty game.  I follow the guy pretty closely, it’s crazy as he will say something that reads totally normal, then in the press I read an article totally taking it out of context, leaving out key words or spinning it into something different.  Then that “news” is picked up by other outlets and ran with.  It’s amazing to watch in real time.

He has stated many times that he knows man made climate change is real, however  there is a “hoax” in the lefts hyperbole response to it and goes on to give a nuanced answer about how fossil fuels have saved many lives from climate (heat in cold weather) especially for the poorer folks and America needs to look at ALL forms of energy while keeping the cost to consumers in mind yada yada.

Next day headline from The Hill reads:  “Vivek says Climate Change is a Hoax”.  

Day after goes on CNN for an interview and the interviewer grills him over why he thinks Climate Change is a hoax.  Vivek starts answering trying to illustrate that wasn’t what he said, then continues to explain why…..only to have the CNN interviewer start talking over him which is impossible to watch.

Yeah I can agree to this.  He clearly says the climate change agenda is a hoax, and the media turned that into climate change is a hoax.

However I can't find anywhere he says that mad made climate change is real and must be addressed.  He's awfully vague on that as to not piss people off.

I haven’t seen this guy speak a ton but did see an extended interview on CNN with him and this topic came up.

I think his schtick in many cases is to say something controversial which then gets him air time to explain it. It’s an effective strategy to get face time on TV.

The annoying part of this is when he acts all butthurt when media is asking him to explain these statements.

The interview I watched he was given tons of time to explain his statements. If he says “climate change agenda is a hoax” or whatever, then he needs to explain it when asked. 

He’s doing this on purpose I’d say to get attention. It’s the troll strategy, say something outrageous to illicit reaction and then get to talk about it with a nuanced answer.

The left is very clear on how they want to address climate change. Type in “Green New Deal” and you can get AOC’s whole plan, all of the restrictions she wants. Look up Greta Thunberg’s website and you can get the left’s proposals on a world wide scale.
