Is this really what you want, Florida? Do you believe you can make homosexuality go away by pretending to kids that it doesn’t exist?

Yes, it is what people want.  Schools are for teaching basic skills, not for creating an army of social warriors who will loot cities and scream for reparations.  Get you authoritarian government propaganda out of the schools.

Likewise I am sure you would not appreciate some Christian coalition film promoting religion in the schools.

The Fox and the Hound featured a trans-species attraction or friendship.  Pretty racy stuff really as the same sex but different specie charactures frolick together.

Snow White lived with seven men and can be seen sexually exciting one who is cognitively impaired.

Mulan was a cross dresser.

Many of their films feature witchcraft but perhaps the most disturbing is Alladin who uses magic to stalk a hottie.

Wow. It gets worse.

You extrapolated all of this from the presence of a gay character?

Fifth graders whose parent's signed permission slips.  I'm O.K. with this.  Maybe the complaining parent should have googled the movie before signing the  permission slip.

Had there not been pre-approval by the parents I would have a problem with a PG-13 movie being shown to 10 and 11 year-olds.

Strange World is PG.

My mistake then as to that fact.  Still, as it suggests parental guidance I am fine with showing it upon sending permission slips home announcing the coming showing.

In my day they showed film strips, usually sponsered by Shell oil.  I wonder when the last film strip was shown.

You can promote the next Florida law to ban all films from being shown in school.

They are go together.  Besides the wokist propaganda being advanced, the film also has a bleak message on global warming.  These acts by woke teachers are to set precedent to slide more political trash into the schools.

Science has a bleak message on global warming: it’s not a political position.

This seems like an overreaction to me. But liberals set the stage for this with their own approach to the world

As I have said over and over…..it might feel good to liberals to make some point today, but what happens when it is turned back on you

All this cancel culture nonsense created by liberals is divisive and making us ruthless toward each other. Liberals have normalized nasty…

Lol.  I'm sure most of us were shown movies at some point in our K-12 education.

Well, at least those of us who didn't go at a time when it was just one room, all-age, schools and no electricity. ;)

Not really.   Politicians has a message which is much bleaker than supported by science.

But why you have your head so far up your arse is because you think this is the worst examples of what teachers are doing.  This is actually the best example the media could find to support their agenda against DeSantis.  The media ignored 1000 examples which the public would find totally offensive in favor of the most tame example they could find.  You are being manipulated like the good brown shirt you are.

Let’s not talk about Pepi Le Pew or when Bugs Bunny cross dressed.

Both sides have lost their minds over this stuff, imo.  One goes too far with the books and gender crap.  The other freaks if there is ANY mention of this stuff.

What school doesn't show the occasional movie?  There are a lot of movies I remember watching in school throughout the years.

The complaining parent probably didn’t sign the permission slip. They just don’t want other parents to be allowed to make decisions about what their kids can and can’t watch.

Yeah. The whole school went to the auditorium and watched one. This dope was showing it in class. Read.

It's PG, not PG-13, and yes they signed permission slips.

No, I wouldn't.  This is not the equivalent.  I wouldn't care if it was a movie that featured a religious person, which is basically what we are talking about here - a kid movie that happened to have a gay character.

Yeah, I know.  We watched movies in class.  It's a pretty normal thing all across the country and in all grades.  What world are you living in?

What is a public school’s role in influencing a child’s sexuality?

I don't think a school should influence it but I think a school should provide an atmosphere that makes a child feel comfortable being who they are.
