Thanks.  I'm not a lawyer but I would be surprised if an attorney for one side could call the clerk's office and ask them to remove something submitted by the other side.  This might explain the "confusion" from the office, since they wouldn't think such a thing could occur.

Seems like Hunter’s lawyers wanted a chance to review/redact the documents to protect their client’s privacy. And the clerk misunderstood who was calling. In the end, the GOP committee only has to wait a day. Much ado about nothing.

Funny how there were no leaks about this upcoming finalization of a plea deal until the GOP House committee made a filing… and then their emails were leaked to Rupert Murdoch’s NY Post. But that’s just editorializing by me!

Judge was PISSED about Hunter's lawyers shenanigans with the clerk today.  Late in the day the judge gave them until 9 PM Eastern time to submit reasons they shouldn't be sanctioned.  They met the deadline and basically blamed the clerk.  Blaming the court staff is not the best strategy IMO.  Will see what the judge thinks tomorrow.

That's what I heard.  Apparently the judge asked the prosecution if the deal would prevent future prosecutions and they said no, then the defense said their understanding was that it would, and then the judge told the sides to talk to each other because clearly they weren't on the same page.  She also asked the prosecution if there were other investigations in to Hunter going on and the prosecution confirmed that there were but wouldn't say what they were about.
