Would you be willing to go to jail for your favorite candidate?

Recommended Posts

Because this woman is

She called the judge in Trump’s January 6 trial and left a voicemail calling her the n-word, said that if Trump weren’t President in 2024, she and her family would be killed, along with Rep Shirley Jackson Lee, all DC Democrats, and everyone in the LGBTQ community!

That’s a bit much, don’t you think?

Leaving messages threatening assassination is a crime committed by the very stupidest people. They're easily identified and at the very least have forever outted themselves as a person of interest, they're d likely wind up going to jail rather than carry out their murderous fantasy. Or worse. Just last week, Ding Dong in Utah got himself killed for taking it to the breaking point.

I thought the law on threats was that the threat had to be clear, AND, the person had to have the ability to carry it out in the near future by both proximity and practicality.  i thought theidea was that unrealistic vernting was not actionable.

In this instance, where the speaker was not conflated from being in a passionate and heated argument with the subject of the threat, but rather went out of her way to initiate the matter she should be investigated and looked at very closely.  If she had any extant plansto travel to the vicinity of the Judge or the Congressperson, and if she had any weapons or any training in killing such as militsry training or substantial range time she should be prosecuted.  If she is just a nutjob venting she should be under ongoing surveillance.

As I understand matters some jurisdictions have begun opassing laws about threats to public officials so as to overcome the common law on threats.  Depending on how those are written I support them. These can get tricky as one person's threat is another's justified criticism.  In the instance under discussion, however, i don't think we are close to the line.  Pretty clearly, to me, that behavior is beyond the pale.

Yes. I mean the LGBTQ community isn't all that big, comparatively, but how does she think she's going to be able to kill all of them?

She'll take her genius intellect to a Chinese lab and concoct some combination of AIDS, Monkeypox, COVID, and Ebola.

Apparently she had done this sort of thing multiple times before and when questioned by Homeland Security said that if Jackson Lee came to her hometown, they (the authorities) would have to worry.

😲

Clearly just a nutjob, but seriously, get some self-control, chick!

You have to be a special kind of stupid to care about a candidate that much.  It's amazing how many Trump has though.

But its OK for Madonna to threaten to blow up the White House.

If she is opposing the "great evil" the Democrats have marketed toward Trump, of course.  You see, when you fabricate an opposing evil you empower yourself to be as vile as you please.

Yup they excuse it in their minds by pretending republicans are nazis.  So like a cult, democrats memory hole their own bad behavior and highlight bad behavior from outside their cult.

There’s a “Trump house” in my neighborhood - whole thing covered in MAGA / Trump 2024 / Let’s Go Brandon type stuff. I can’t imagine being that personally invested in any politician.

Typical dumbass MAGAturd whataboutism, not grasping the idea that two wrongs don't make a right, that the two things are unrelated and that much of the damage was caused by drug-addled thugs who have never voted in their lives.

Jan. 6 remains relevant, consider the clown who cause it is facing 91 criminal charges and still wants to be president again so he can turn our country into a fascist autocracy.

🤣

There's a hardware store a couple of miles from me, and it has dozens of Trump and Let's Go Brandon flags flapping in the wind outside. Such a dumb business move on their part. I won't spend a penny there.

Oh no. They won't have to take time explaining to you the difference between a flathead screwdriver from a phillips head.

That must hurt.

The only way I would be that invested if it was a close family member that decided to get into politics for some reason...

That isn't a really good idea IMO...  You probably alienate half your clientele...  I see bumper stickers on trucks endorsing a candidate, but then it is has a business on the side and I can't believe that they did that...  No issue with a candidate, just keep it to yourself if you don't want your business to suffer...  Unless you are in an area that backs a candidate at over 90%, then you show the support and hopefully attract new customers...

I feel the same about rainbow flags on a business.

Yeah.  I don’t think a bunch of ghays and pedos want me anywhere near their brand.  Too much machismo and toxic masculinity.  I’m sure you fit right in.

A child has a far greater chance of getting molested in the Boy Scouts, at church or at home by a middle-aged white male than the child would at a business that a gay person owns.
