Movies/Shows that you LOVED as kid...but have held up terribly.

I will start. The goonies. I loved the goonies as a kid. I watched it with MY kid recently and I was appalled at how focking bad it was. It is terrible. 

The wire. I thought the wire was the best tv show ever made. I watched it again and it is really not. It is just not good.

We watched Spaceballs with our kids when they were teens, told them how hilarious it was.  Yeah, notsomuch. It sucked.

Recently had a free preview weekend on one of those nostalgia channels. Watched a couple episodes and it was OMG awful.

it feels creepy to watch a young Alyssa Milano and Nicole Eggert in who's the boss and Charles in charge now, and the shows are so terrible that I now realize they were the only reason I watched

The one that hurt me the most was the wire. I used to think that was the best thing ever made. Then I watched it again and it is freaking terrible. Slow, the actors are bad. The plotline is awful.

Every scene with Dark Helmet is great. I use the John Candy line from when they unload the industrial strength hairdryer all the time. "Oh, yeah, this is the best".

Oh, absolutely, "I said shoot across her nose, not up it", "I'm surrounded by azzholes", "Ludacris speed, GO!", "Comb the deserts", the black dudes with the hair pick, the password for the air lock... every one of them are great.

I still use the John Candy line of "Oh, that's going to leave a mark", quite often, even when talking about someone else.
