It's like the Lia Thomas/Riley Gains thing. Lia Thomas is 6'1". Riley Gains is 5'9". Take away everything else, and Lia already has an advantage in the pool. Lia went from 555th in mens swimming to 36th in women's. Lia isn't going to want to complete with other trans-females and go back to being mid to back of the pack. Would you? 

You're making the point that the reason they compete with the women is because they have the advantage.  I'm not arguing that they don't have an advantage, the clearly do.

I just don't buy the argument that they will only compete with other women because that's where they have advantage.

Your other argument, and buck's argument make more sense, that they want to be called women and competing in this "other" category diminishes them as women.

I am curious, how many of them (transgender professional swimming athletes) are there in the world that would be able to compete in this event? I really don't know...there could be dozens, or maybe not even enough to put together a bridge game.

Also, I doubt that one would just announce that they are trans and then are automatically entered in the event. I would assume that they would have had to have entered competitive swimming races before, but I don't know what the entry qualifications are.

And perhaps the objection to competing in a trans category is that it might be viewed as the trans equivalent of The Special Olympics.

Yeah this is it.  I did some googling and apparently trans women are banned from competing with women, so they made this "open" category for the trannies, but the trannies be like fock that, homie don't play.

I didn't say that the ONLY reason they compete with other women is due to advantage; it's one of them, and it's a big one, IMO. 

And if having their own category and competing in general was that important, they would have entered it. I'd be curious what their reasons are for not joining that category. 

They want to be seen as "real" women. As a bonus, they win everything. WHY would they enter a category where they are less likely to place in competitive sports like this? Placing means potential money, notoriety, and perhaps endorsements or scholarships.

Doing so gives them an unfair advantage, they win and literally "steal" places from women who've been working to achieve this their entire lives. To create (or keep) the field even for those biological women, they create a new category specifically for trans-females.

They really aren't "real" women. They are in their own category. 

They will be competing against other trans women, who might or might have unfair advantages due to the hormones, time on hormones, whether they reached puberty before/after hormones, etc. 

They won't place as well as they do in the women category, because of the bonus of being stronger and faster than 90% of the individuals they are competing against. 

Put these things together and they don't join the category designed just for them. WHAT?! No one joined?! WHY NOT?!

I don't disagree with you on WHY someone transitions; it's because they feel they were born as the wrong sex/gender.  I know this.
