it looked coming into this game, we might have the best two teams in the AFC competing.  With the Fins dropping two last month and the Chiefs coming off an embarrassing loss against the Donks, this game may have lost some of the luster it might have otherwise had.

I'm heading to the official chiefs watch party in KC.  Have a Rotary event the night before, getting a hotel then getting up early for a german inspired brunch and beverages at a distillery in KC.  Sounds like they'll have german themed apparel that you can only get in Germany and at this party, and stuff like that.  It could be a long day, but I'm excited.

So are you planning on watching, and if so, doing anything other than just turning it on in the morning at home?

Ze Dolphins will turn ze Chiefs into wiener-schnitzels.  Tua's luftwaffe will blitzkreig ze Chief's Maginot Line. Then we shall burn ze playbooks.

Why wouldn't I watch?  I'm going to be up and there's football on.

I'm not a morning person, but I wake up because I have a job.  If I had my preference I'd be up till 1 or 2 am each night and sleep till 9 or 10.  It's my natural time or whatever people call it.  I'm usually waking up around the time these games start and then have to get up and around and stuff.  So for me, I'll be up earlier than I would on a Sunday, because of the game.

Miami vs winning records 0-2. Everyone else 6-0.

I have more faith in Dolphins this week, than I did Eagles or Bills. Chiefs haven't been scoring like year's past. Now playing the highest scoring team, with an improving defense - Jalen Ramsey looks good, and now Xavien Howard returns.

The Chiefs are playing at home.... yeah, Deutschland.

Heil McDaniel

I voted "No", because the games starts here at 9:30 am, not 7:30 am.

8:30 for me.   I did go the wrong way for east coast variance though.   Feel sorry for the fockers on the west coast.

...and in Hawaii.  A friend of mine went to Hawaii on vacation for a couple weeks (a number of years ago), and he said it was awesome.  They got up at 8 in the morning to turn on football, and it was over before dinner.

I think most people, as they get older, just wake up on Sunday the same they would during the week, just may be a little slower or lazier.  I get up at 6:30 am for work every day, and on the weekends, I'm always up by 7/7:30.  I just lay in bed for a bit, so games starting at 8 am (or later), isn't really an inconvenience.

I'll probably forget it's on; if not I'll throw it on the tube (heh heh, tube, I'm old!) until Red Zone comes on.

My only interest, other than two good teams, is Rashee Rice, who the pundits say I should start over Addison.  I know Addison lost Cousins, but he's been a stud since JJ went down.  Still mulling that one over...

Quote

"Pocket time" is the seconds the Qb was in the pocket between snap and pass/pocket collapse. The 2023 average quarterback time is 2.4 seconds.

The quarterbacks in Sunday's matchup show the opposite ends of the spectrum. Tagovailoa has the third quickest pocket time at 2.1 seconds, while Mahomes has the third longest at 2.6 seconds.

Hard to get knee or concussion injuries when ya get rid of the ball so damn fast. Go Fish!!!

If Dolphins beat the Chiefs, and get to 7-2...

Next five: Raiders, Jets, Skins, Titans, Jets.... easily 3-2

Heading into final three games 10-4 record at worst.  C'mon Dolphins - huge game for playoffs.

The Germans sure wound up with two top shelf teams and a huge game for AFC playoff positioning.

I'm not planning on changing my Sunday morning schedule as there are things that need doing and I already get enough grief for watching too much football on Sundays.

the matchup dictates I watch.  Too many fantasy relevant players going and I have shares in a decent amount from Mahomes to Tua, Hill and Waddle.

Even without fantasy implications, it should be one of the more interesting games so far this year.

Also after watching clips of Mike McDaniels interviews, it is hard to believe that guy is an NFL head coach

Dolphin fans agree - it's exciting watching McDaniel's offense and then after a big win you're all pumped up, so ya listen to the post game interview!!!

"Hello everyone, so yeah. Well, so ya know, umm they played hard, so that's good. Yeah... "

That too. Most head coaches are battle-hardened men... McDaniel is more like a young nerd. Fans don't care. Miami got a compensatory 3rd rd pick for hiring a "mixed race" coach. He's mixed race? His first 1.5 years already brought more success, glory, and press than the prior 20 years combined. Way too early to anoint guru.... or idiot savant for that matter. But we'll see how far this train goes.

Also been fun rooting for Tua - classy humble dude out of Alabama (lots of bama fans in the South), even though everyone - including me, wanted Herbert. Hasn't been much hope since Marino retired in 1999. Haven't won a playoff game in 22 years, worst only to the Lions (31).

Not a fan of early Sunday game but we do get that extra hour of sleep and I like the Chiefs and have Mahomes and Tyreek on my FF Team so I'll watch at 8:30 CST (might catch up on DVR and start late if I'm too tired). I'm a late night up and sleep late type of person.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m a fan. I think he’s hilarious.
just that when you listen to him you’re like wait, is this a coach or a make a wish kid

I hate Miami but even I like McDaniel.  Seems like a cool laid back guy.

I'll also be waking up for 630 start since I'm facing Pacheco and starting Rice.
