FSU got hosed

For who SHOULD have gotten in?

Michigan, Washington, FSU, Texas.

We agree to disagree. Alabama has to be in. They just beat the #1 team in the Country from the best conference in NCAA History.

Anyone who’s ever played sports or cared about sports who thinks an undefeated Florida State did not EARN a chance to be in the CFP is an IDIOT.  I cannot say this more plainly. I’m not even a Noles fan at all but it is complete nonsense.

The whole point of the stupid arse “Committee” was to be a tie breaker and ranker.  However like most human beings normally do, they decided their opinions meant….more.  Unbelievable.

Michigan, Washington and FSU are 1-2-3 based on WINNING AND LOSING. The “Committees job is to rank them 1 thru 3.  Now the hard part.  Choosing the 4th team (P5 but 1Loss) between Texas, Georgia, Alabama, etc. Thats what common sense, history and logic says.

However ESPN owns the CFP game rights. Follow the money.

I love sports. It is, or was, one of the last entities where nothing else mattered but winning and losing.

I played, and now coach.  I will die on this hill.

Thing is, could have still had Michigan, Washington, FSU, and Alabama

Still had the Michigan Alabama opener on Jan 1.    A better argument could be made for Alabama getting in over Texas because of the one loss.

Ron DeSantis slams CFP, wants to sue over Florida State snub

DeSantis, speaking at a news conference to detail his proposed $114.4 billion budget for Florida, said he is asking for $1 million to let Florida State sue the CFP committee even though the championship will be decided months before a budget is approved. The semifinals are set for Jan. 1, with the championship game to be played Jan. 8.

The point of the committee was to pick the four best teams!

Earn has nothing to do with it, FSU wasn't one of the four best teams, that's why they aren't going.

Ah, the annual debate.  The nature of the debate has changed a bit from years ago, but in the end it is always the same, maybe had someone else been recognized for an opportunity the "champs" would be different.

Georgia got screwed, FSU got screwed, Ohio State maybe got screwed.  Alabama got in, again.  Recency bias prevailed, once again.  i know this much, my alma mater was not worthy.  maybe next year, or the year after, or the year after.  Go Bucky!

Glad I'm not a Florida State fan.

Alabama, Texas, and Florida State were all pointing their fingers at the other two teams saying, "let us in and screw that program over there."

Also glad some people other than me were on that committee. It would be impossible to not generate a flood of hate mail.

"Here, Let me explain to you (FSU, Alabama, or Texas) homers calmly, so you understand, why I chose to fock over your school..."

Watching the pregame when they said FSU had a bunch of players opt out while Georgia was mostly in tact (and I sensed that they wanted to obliterate FSU and show they belonged in the playoff), I went and bet Georgia -23.5.  I wish I bet my entire account on it.  42-3 and halftime, eesh.

They have 14 starters not playing, who would be playing if the game mattered.

That is something I hadn't considered.

The only starter that mattered is Jordan Travis and he opted out long before the final four was decided.

Georgia is the team that got hosed and Washington should have been left out as well. The PAC-no longer 12 hasn't done sh1t since Matt Leinart left.

Fla St today is showing why only four teams should qualify.

No need for bowl games if players can  just sit them out.

Georgia being nice and bringing in the backups to start the 2nd half 😂

They were already playing against backups. My God people are dumb.

Sad. Maybe they would have kept it within 30 😂

Yes they were. Florida state wasn’t the only team hit by defection, but unsurprisingly they are the only ones crying about it.

Cowards and quitters putting an exclamation point on why they had no business in the playoffs

You think Purdy is MVP. You know less about football than Jeff Probst

That's just silly, there's no point in playing in these games unless you're in the final 4. The system is broken.

It sucks that FSU's QB got hurt, I don't think they would have done well in the finals without him. However, if you (not specifically you) think this game is some sort of justification for FSU not making the final 4 you're a blithering idiot. The team that was on the field today isn't the team that went 13-0.

Highest rated QB on the #1 seeded team in the NFC. History says that player usually wins the MVP. I don't make the rules.

Nobody looks dumber than you do in the Purdy thread, it's odd that you keep bringing it up. :dunno:

Nope, they are exactly what we thought they were. Soft and unready from their up ale schedule, wilting at the first sign of  challenge.

Sure hope all this NFL teams they hope be on are watching their absence of heart.

Truth be told, they should not have even been in a bowl game this week….they were unworthy
