Gladiators 1,990 Posted January 21, 2024 Purdy handed it to GB on a silver platter. Carlson is terrible. Love has some room for growth.
cmh6476 1,025 Posted January 21, 2024 That was a fun game. Two qbs with very promising futures and likely more playoff matchups against each other ahead.
listen2me 23 1,873 Posted January 21, 2024 About 3 chances to change the end of that game and failed on all. Drop basically a pick 6 if u just fall down in fg range early. Run a sneak on 4th early innfg range. Thry never runs sneaks. Miss a 41 yard fg. Packers played a B+ game and coulda won. Aad pathetic give away loss. Nice to know they are just as good as the 9ers as youngest team in league vs all pros left and right. Otherwise really bad loss.

Voltaire 5,316 Posted January 21, 2024 13 minutes ago, edjr said: La Flower continues the wonderful tradition of choking Head Coaches That's harsh. I mean fair enough, it rings true in some sense, but this guy's team going in was supposed to get blown out. They took it to the 49ers, gave them hell, to such an extent that it looked they should have won. Thus this comment. To get his team this prepped and game planned was it's own high achievement. Considering the degree of coaching difficulty it took just to get to that point, I'd cut him some slack. I'd as soon criticize Shanahan for his team underperforming.

cmh6476 1,025 Posted January 21, 2024 Yeah I was kind of thinking Lafleur might actually be the second best coach in the league. To take basically a rookie QB that far, against the most talented team in the league was something. I thought Green Bay put up a hell of a fight, and would expect them to be right back in the mix of things next year.
listen2me 23 1,873 Posted January 21, 2024 It was a good season from GB. But that game was right focking there. Lafleur is a good coach. Having that kicker on this team at this point in the season is gross. Finished 4 of 9 from 40-49 this season. Leading league in PAT misses to boot. 9ers were there to get beat and laughed at and they let them off the hook.
Reality 3,121 Posted January 21, 2024 Good hard fought game, Aaron Jones looked awesome. Easy to sum this one up, one QB made plays when they absolutely had to and the other one didn't. It's the playoffs, it doesn't matter how you win, just win. Future appears to be bright in GB, who knows, consistency is tough in the NFL. The system is built for everybody to go 9-8. Are they a flash in the pan or legitimately on the come up? I guess we'll see. 49ers move on to 4th conference championship in 5 years. Being competitive at the highest level is really all you can ask for out of a team you root for. Bring on the Lions or the Bucs.

But overall didnt play a great game especially from what hr has been doing. QB been playing at one of the higher levels in league and brought his C game. And the Packers still probably should have beat them. I knew the Packers defense would fold on that last drive. They have up 30 pts to bryce young 4 weeks ago. It was gonna go the other way st some point.
listen2me 23 1,873 Posted January 21, 2024 "When he goes out there I just pray" - Lafleur But they kept going with him? Hes a focking kicker. Robbie focking gould from his couch makes the 41 yarder.

Engorgeous George 2,331 Posted January 21, 2024 Aiyuk was kind of a female dog last night. McCaffrey and Kittle played through some frustrations to still impact the game in a huge way. They kept their heads in the game. The Linesman consistently spotted Green Bay short. It was conspicuous. Can't drop certain interceptions in a playoff game. I don't believe Melton controlled that called touchdown in time. Why did Doubs run out of bounds on his first long catch? He did it five yards short of where the defender was. I laughed at the terrible flop by the Packer, Owens I think, when Trent Williams brushed him away. How could the refs call that? I knew to a certainty Carlson would miss that kick. My only uncertainty was whether he would doink it. Packers did well. The youngest team, a seventh seed, traveling on a short week, with an injury list as long as Giannis Antentukoump's arm and they made the 49ers worry. Next year they will have some extra draft picks from Rodgers and Douglass. They will have cleared much of Rodger's cap hit and they are also likely to be able to deal with the ridiculous cap hit for Bahktieri who has collected something like 90 million the last three years for playing around 10 snaps and for chugging beers on the arena cam at Bucks games. The Packers have found their Q.B., their T.E.'s, and their W.R.'s. They have also found some workable D.B.'s if Alexander and Stokes get hurt again. Finally they have integrated a good and young O-line. They have some holes, but all in all it was a year where they made progress and answered questions. No Green Bay fan is lamenting moving on from Rodgers. I lament they did not do so a year earlier so they could have raped Denver instead of allowing Seattle to do so. Engorgeous George 2,331 Posted January 21, 2024 Packers could have reacquired Mason Crosby six weeks ago. they could ahve stashed Carlson on the practice squad as no oner in thnier right mind would have picked him up.
listen2me 23 1,873 Posted January 21, 2024 I understand they played well and have a nice future and made it futher than anyone expected. Lots of those tweets out there. But still, had a chance to win that game. More than a chance. Packers could improve. Be the 5 seed. Meet another good 9ers team in the divisional round and get steamrolled. You never know. Have to win them when they are there to be won. On the bright side that I will eventually get to, they are headed the right way and I will be excited come next summer. But for now I want to keep banging my head against the wall and complain about it a little longer.

Had it been we would have won and had an extra day of prep time to meet either Detroit of Tampa in the Championship round, a very winnable proposition. The Real timschochet 6,769 Posted January 21, 2024 The key to winning in this league is having an elite quarterback. And that’s really the only key. If you have one you can build the other parts very quickly and win a championship. If you don’t have one it doesn’t matter what the rest of your team looks like. Take it from a Steelers fan. Green Bay has an elite QB. And it’s their third one in a row (I think that’s unique, never been done??) Their fans ought to be pleased and excited. They’re certainly spoiled:
listen2me 23 1,873 Posted January 21, 2024 I was disappointed in Love's throw on thr last drive. They had time to get into FG range. On the other hand I didn't care to be in that position. If Love gets them to a 50 yarder now we just have to trot the idiot kicker out again to watch him miss.
