Oh, so you don't think a U.S. Senate member has any pull regarding federal emergency response and disaster aid? And he joins his family in warm, comfy Cancun when his home state faces a winter storm like it hasn't seen in recorded history and for which it isn't prepared? Ever heard of FEMA? The federal government has far more emergency-response resources than a state. I personally interviewed Rick Perry (doosh) and John Cornyn (love him) when they dropped in after Hurricane Rita. Damn, boyo, I've batted you around like a pickleball bigly today. You should take the night off. Seriously.

Wait, so you said Ted Cruz works in D.C. but has to be in Texas to push for federal funds yet fled Texas for Cancun when the state he was supposed to be in to request funds faced its historically worst winter disaster. Gawdblammit go to bed, son! You're like the Union's second charge at the Battle of Cold Harbor.

Engorgeous George 2,236 Posted February 5, 2024 Should take care of those homeless who were burrowing into river banks and building dens in there. I pity the ocean life. All the feces and syringes and tarps and trash from the homeless encampments will wash on in and likely kill much habitat.
jerryskids 6,652 Posted February 5, 2024 That river thingy is supposed to come here and rain on our golf tournament. I was planning to go on Friday with my son, but decided to hold off on buying a ticket until we see the weather. Friday looks dry but we'll see. The Sonoran Desert has two rainy seasons: the summer monsoon, and the week of the Phoenix Open (ok, Jan/Feb).

It can't be helped in L.A. the storm drainage system is set up that way to go straight to the ocean. Otherwise there would be huge flooding problems.
