Pretty funny stuff in this thread. The overwhelming number of political violence acts in this country since the 1950’s have come from the left. Which, if true, is better for Biden than it was a few days ago, when every poll gave Trump a 3-4 point lead. 

But- following the State of the Union there was a surge for Biden but after about a month it went away and polls reverted to what they were before. We’ll see if that happens again. In the end it still comes down to inflation IMO. If it’s still bad, or even perceived as bad, in November. I think Trump has to be the favorite. Hope I’m wrong.

It’s early yet, though. 

 

These polls are hard to decipher with the cross currents.  What would be more valuable is if they would cross tab between Trump support in the prior poll to support now.  I think a lot of these more likely/less likely were already in the decided camp regardless of the way this went.  I could say a conviction would make me more likely to vote for Trump, but if I'm voting for him anyway it doesn't matter.  I'd guess Biden gets at least a temporary bump from this but it's very hard to read.  There are others who were soft support or lean Trump that got pushed further in his direction because they view it as political.  I'm guessing that number is less than the few undecideds pushed in the other direction, but it's so hard to know.

Meaningless poll.  Less likely rarely translates to actual change of voting.  What does matter is donations to Trump have gone up through the roof, way over $50 million in small donations in just two days.  Trump approval ratings have gone up 6% since the verdict.  These quick national polls don't mean squat.  We will see how it plays out in swing states in the coming weeks.

But that is the problem.  It should not be about winning the election.  It should be about was justice served.  I outlined 7 reasons in the trial thread why this case was a gross miscarriage of justice.  But nobody cares.  You don't care.  It is about getting Trump and winning.

I care about justice.  You don't bring charges because you hate someone.  You  bring charges because it is a fair administration of justice.   That is why I hated the trials for Rittenhouse and Zimmerman.  Those trials were not to administer justice, those trials were to punish people on the wrong political side.  Neither of those cases had any chance of success in a fair trial.  But the point was to punish those bastards because the left hated their guts by dragging them through the hell of going through a murder trial.  

This trial got the political result because it was carefully rigged.   There is zero chance this stands up to appeal.   There were far too many errors which all favored the prosecution.

You’re confusing me with @supermike80. I generally trust polls. That’s why I’ve been so troubled lately. I’m gladdened by the current poll results but I fear they’re a snapshot. I still believe that, despite all other factors, if inflation is bad in November then Trump is going to win. I expect the worst. Hopefully I’m wrong.

Bullsh!t. I didn’t discount 538; I thought at the time  you were referring to an older set of polls which were outdated after the State of the Union. And they were but the numbers quickly reversed themselves again. So I made a mistake and as soon as I realized it I corrected myself. It wasn’t a flip flop. And you’ve mentioned it now at least a dozen times. As always you’re obsessed with whenever I get something wrong. It’s really kind of disturbing, but whatever.
