I philosophically agree with you.  The problem is that the "science" that these parents (and kids) are being provided is, for lack of a better word, crap.  

Also, the number of gender clinics treating children has risen from zero to > 100 in the past 15 years.  These places need to pay the bills.  Do you think they are in the business of turning potential clients away?
