I don't think saying he was bullied is to try to draw sympathy, but rather maybe trying to find some motive in this (such as in mass shootings).

I'm just noting the difference of treatment. Heck, a black person who was shot or killed by a police officer is treated more harshly by the media than this guy. Think of how poorly you feel about George Floyd? He didn't shoot anyone and yet many of you feel anger towards him.

FTR: When I wrote that Trump is a wannabe dictator my reasoning was not his “dictator for a day” comment which I agree has been taken out of context and can be dismissed- it’s instead his admiration of Viktor Orban and his desire to emulate Orban’s transformation of Hungary into an authoritarian state. Orban is the latest in a series of right wing strong men that Trump has very publicly admired over the years. This concerns me greatly. I do not believe that this concern represents extremism on my part nor it is it inflammatory of me to bring it up. 

Orban is not Hitler. I would never compare him or any other modern “strong man” to Hitler. Comparing Trump to Hitler is IMO stupid and over the top and I would agree that it’s inflammatory. But I also have to note that Trump caused this comparison himself with his very specific rhetoric so evocative of the the Nazis. I don’t believe that pointing out Trump’s rhetoric, so long as I use exact quotes (which I did) represents extremism on my part nor is it inflammatory of me to bring it up. 

That is my position. If @Strikeor anyone else wants to accuse me of being extreme or “raising the temperature” then I challenge them to specifically refute the points I have explained in this post.

And yes, I do kind of feel sorry for him and his parents. He was really young and must've had no friends to stop him or talk to him. It's a shame what happened. I'm sad for all who died and those that were injured. I wish we all would reflect on why this keeps happening. And why it seems to be a certain demographic that keeps committing this sort of crime.... white males

It seems to me Trump himself is as guilty of this sort of extreme over-the-top language as anyone. I can’t think of another political figure from either side of the aisle who’s personally done more to drag the conversation into the gutter than him.

The people making a commotion about the shooter maybe did save Trump’s life. Secret Service understood something was going on over there so they were on it and took the shooter out immediately. Otherwise the shooter probably would’ve got more shots off after Trump went down. Can’t really tell exactly what it’s like behind the podium there but seems like the shooter would’ve still had a pretty good angle.
