If Cali is the land of progressives...then why would schools be so concerned that childrens progressive parents know?

What a baby

And there it is.....3 words, that's all it took. If someone doesn't agree with your politics....they're a baby. If someone doesn't want to run their business out of a state that gives no sanctity to parents....they're a baby. Your outlook on how things should be is exactly why this country is in the mess it is today & why people are so alarmed. I can't wait for the day they take away something you care about & watch you cry......like a baby.

How anyone could live in that shithole is beyond me

I don't have kids so this doesn't affect me. Anybody who has kids here should've sent their kids to private school years ago.

I've been trying to enjoy the higher wages until it's time to retire but it is definitely getting harder to deal with the leftist buIIshit. They've rooned a once great state.

So some kid wants to go by a different pronoun and the schools aren't required to tell the parents at home?  Do schools have to tell parents at home if a kid asks to be called a nickname in school instead of their actual name?

This isn't about me or my politics.  It's about a baby that disagreed with a new law, and decided to move 2 companies and all of his employees 1600 miles across the country because of it.  That is childish and dumb, and yes he's a baby.

With complete disregard to all of his employees, he doesn't like the law, so they all have to suffer.  They have to move to a state where abortion is illegal because he doesn't like a law that protects trans kids.  How petty can you get?

And it's personal for him.  He doesn't like trans people.  He disowned his own daughter for being trans. That's being a baby.

My outlook on things is that people shouldn't let their hurt feelings or hatred of others get in the way of doing what's right.  You think that's wrong with America? You're clueless.  A real leader, a father, does what's right for the good of others.  They don't change the course of thousands of lives for the worse over petty disagreements and personal hurt feelings.

If my child were exhibiting signs of mental illness, I'd hope their teachers would tell me.

It puts teachers in an awkward position and kind of goes against a Conservative narrative that they would want teachers and school districts to decide what constitutes mental illness in regards to their children.

So kids that want to translation are at increased risk for suicide.  But let’s not let the parents know.  Unity with these people? Nah.

What's RIGHT is to get out of a state that has taken a FATHER'S RIGHTS away. That's not petty feelings. An important facit of parents knowing what's going on with their kids has been taken away.......we all know who's clueless. If all these "employees" want to keep their jobs local.....vote better.

Its Musks right to do what he wants with what he owns..... but that law doesn't take parents' rights away.

Musk isn’t a baby. He can do what he wants. But I don’t think it’s a smart move. California is the heart of the pacific rim, and trade with Asia, which will dominate ALL trade in the 21st century.

We’re a woke state and people will have to deal with that. We’re also the center of capitalism. If you want prosperity in the future this is the place to be.

This is not a parents rights issue for focks sake.

If parents want to know what's going on with their kids, they should talk to their kids.  If the kid doesn't want to tell them anything, there is nothing a parent can do.  If a kid is talking to a therapist and tells them something in confidence, then the therapist doesn't have to tell the parent anything unless of course the child is in danger or other circumstances.  If a student tells a teacher they want to be called by a different name, but don't tell my parents because they will beat me, then the teacher shouldn't have to tell the teacher if they don't want to.

Oh and this "vote better" is such BS, come on.

He can obviously do what he wants, but to announce this on twitter and blame this law is juvenile grandstanding.  And the victims are all of his employees that have no interest in moving to Texas.  All because of his culture wars.

Last straw would imply one of many reasons, everybody has a breaking point and Elon can do business wherever he sees fit. This is still America, for now. Kudos to him.

Exactly. Children (like adults) should have the right to go by a pronoun of their own choosing. I don't understand the outrage expressed over this.

It's part of the Maga culture, their desire to control everything.  Maga men want to control their wives, their children, other men to the extent that they can.  We see this in abortion/IVF/contraception bans, no fault divorce, book bannings, etc.

Kids could get beat for misbehaving in school. So we better not let the parents know their kid is misbehaving. Gutterboy logic.

1) Every maga accusation is a projection

2) It used to be that conservatives wanted the govt out of our lives.  I've been a big believer in this my whole life.  But with Maga, they want govt to do their bidding for them, and ironically shout about freedom.

But the woke crowd hates capitalism...so how can you tout that you're both and they are both the future? Every single liberal that I know here in CA (and they are pretty much every where) HATES capitalism with the fire of 1000 suns. They don't think it's the "future" at all and it's not prosperous. They are all about more socialism and those types of policies than anything else.

I don't think you are living in the same California that I am.

I am a liberal/progressive. I don't hate capitalism and don't know any liberals here that do.
