Don't waste your time arguing with posty about sports.  He basically only pays attention to stuff like women's field hockey.

Probably because my daughter played field hockey in high school and college…

That explains why you pay attention to women's field hockey, but not why you hate on pretty much all mainstream sports.

I watched a TON of summer olympics. I really wanted Team USA to lose to Serbia yesterday

I HAD the same sentiment until they knotted it up.  The intensity on team USA’s faces, especially Lelbron’s, undeniably changed my tune.

Actually, the girl who I liked the best was Sabrina Voinea. I thought she gave a great performance. Maybe we'll hear from her again in the upcoming years.

The Romanian Olympic Committee says it has appealed Sabrina Maneca-Voinea's score from the floor exercise final at the Paris Games after a last-minute inquiry on behalf of American rival Jordan Chiles prompted heartbreak and rage from the former gymnastics powerhouse.

Meanwhile, the Romanian Gymnastics Federation said it has submitted requests to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. It said one of them is linked to the inquiry submitted by Chiles' coaches.

“Aware of the negative impact on Ana Maria Barbosu and Sabrina Maneca-Voinea, the Romanian Gymnastics Federation aims to correct the mistakes made by the judges and to restore the rights of our athletes,” the federation said.

The results of the floor exercise have caused an uproar in Romania.

Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said Tuesday he will boycott the closing ceremony because of the “scandalous situation.” Ciolacu promised Romania would honor Barbosu and Maneca-Voinea as Olympic medalists, “including in terms of the prizes.”

Why this woman isn’t the most well-know womens athlete on the planet is beyond me.  You’d be hard pressed to find anyone more dominant in their sport right now.  She’s run the 6th fastest times in the 400m hurdles ever.  She sets world records every time she competes on the grand stage.  She’d actually finish in the top 8 of the open 400 - running it with the 10 hurdles.  We’ve never seen anything like that.

And on top of all that, she’s drop-dead gorgeous, smart, funny, well spoken, and humble.  And she’s the most thoughtful, kind person you’ll ever meet.  Her cross-over appeal is enormous.  Her Mom is white and her Dad is black.  She grew up on the East Coast, went to college in the Midwest, and now lives and trains on the West Coast.  She’s deeply religious, but in a spiritual, beautiful, non-threatening way.  Honestly, I can’t think of a more perfect person or a better role model.  I guess she’s a little too good for 2024 America.  Shame.

Don’t disagree, although isn’t Ledecky in the 1500 comparable in terms of dominance of her event?

Yeah, good call.  But the 1500 swimming has only been an Olympic event since 2021.  Not to take anything away from Ledecky though.  She owns the event.

Sydney owns her event as well.  She is 0.6 seconds faster than anyone who has ever run the event. That’s an astounding margin for 400m.  The 4th fastest person in the event ever is Ana Cockrell, who ran 51.87 Thursday to get Silver.  Sydney beat her by 1.5 seconds.

And how about Sydney in the 4x400 relay with a split of 47:71.  Good Lord.

So Romania was “robbed” because the judges initially screwed Childs but later fixed it?

Do you intentionally take the wrong position on every issue, or is it just coincidence?

When will you guys learn to stop trying to correct me? Even though I try to see your point of view on this bored, I’m usually right:

Because they want to continue to shove all the negative stereotypes and images of black people down our throats as the standard representation of who we are; Sha’Carri Richardson.
Sha’Carri is on the cover of Vogue with her scandals and hideous tattoos yet this woman is silently winning gold.
Not only didn’t Ms. Richardson win gold on her own, she didn’t even make it to the 200m finals. The media lens is hyper focused on her, why?!!
You mean Snoopdog and FlavaFlav are the ONLY black celebs or former athletes you could find to meet and interview Olympians and their parents in Paris? Seriously???

There is an agenda, IMO.

(truth be told, Snoopdog, often made it more fun and relaxed.)

Thanks for posting this.  I tried to describe this type of move(s) to my wife yesterday when we were watching Dake wrestle, and I just showed it to her.

Very un-liberal of you to call Women "Broads".

You wouldn't dare call out your beloved TRANNIES. 🌈

Hate Women, bend over backwards for Trannies. Nice work but typical Liberal hypocrite

My pleasure.

This Olympics more than any other, I watched so many sports I never watched before(including wrestling).  So maybe you know that move, maybe it's not that uncommon, but I was just blown away watching that match go from 1-0 to 1-10 so quickly(why I shared it).

Regardless of whether we consider something a real sport or not, like badminton or skate boarding it's been really exciting watching these athletes who have dedicated there lives to be here perform at the top levels.  Big  to the games.

I'm not an Olympic wrestling expert, but I had seen that earlier in the competition (maybe by Dake?) and thought it was interesting, as you did.

I've said these before but:

- I love the obscure sports.  I watched a little of most things; a lot of taekwondo, which I used to compete in.  But I love stuff like the canoe/kayak slaloms.

- Peacock knocked it out of the park IMO.  Gold Zone, Multi View, stream anything any time, watch replays, Prime Time summaries.  10/10.

I can’t bring myself to care about the Olympics anymore. I already had felt there were too many swimming events, for example, that it watered down the whole “medal count” allure. Now we have so many random events just shoved in there. Who cares who wins the most medals when they give them out like party favors?

im sure the fake inclusion champions on this board love it. Breakdancing guys! It belongs in the Olympics ! 😂

Leg lace.   Freestyle has different rules than folkstyle which is what is wrestled in the NCAA, in freestyle you get points just for back exposure but in folkstyle you have to hold them there for 2+ seconds so you wouldn’t see this move in high school/college wrestling.

Unfortunately our men’s freestyle team did not quite perform up to the expectations many had for them, especially with several of the top Russians not in attendance (although there were plenty of Russians in the brackets that transferred to other countries), so the main argument on the wrestling forum I frequent is whether the US should switch to freestyle for high school and college.

Japan kinda dominated which was unexpected outside of the women’s.  8 gold medals out of 18 weight classes across the 3 styles.
