BREAKING: Kamala Harris is set to sit down for an interview with Fox News on Wednesday at 6 PM ET, while Donald Trump continues to shy away from the spotlight. Despite multiple opportunities, Trump has refused to debate Harris on Fox, with Bret Baier lined up as the host.

Let’s not forget, Trump has also dodged interviews with 60 Minutes, CNN, and MSNBC—all while Harris steps up to face tough questions.

So, who’s really avoiding the media? Harris is showing up with nothing to hide, while Trump, who has yet to release his medical records, seems to be keeping a few too many skeletons in his closet.

It will move the needle if she screws it up.  Bret Baier may be fair but he won't be lobbing softballs.

Seems like a very dumb idea.   Fox news is conservative, and it is extremely unlikely anyone watching that is an on the fence voter.  She will convert zero votes.  On the other hand, she could look foolish.  Not sure why her team would agree to this.

Desperation.  As much as Tim and OM want to think differently, her campaign is acting very desperate while Trump's is acting confident.

I just have a feeling 98% of voters know who they are voting for and even going on FOX News and having a "good" interview won't change much. Baier is a really good and fair analyst so he will challenge her. Although Hardcore Troubadummy thinks Baier is just a softball thrower.

Because you need to at least present yourself as not afraid to go into the lion's den. Yes it could backfire but nothing has really blown up in her face yet to the level of stuff Trump says. Yes she word salads some things and isn't always forthcoming with details but she isn't off the rails,

I tend to agree.

Except Fox might be kind to her. They want media events and Trump isn’t giving them that. Instead he’s hiding.

I wouldn't say it's desperation. It's a late push to get more stuff out there on issues. Trump is still campaigning like crazy as well but is choosing to go to these smaller rallies and fire up his base. Kamala's team is trying to reach across the aisle. I'd venture she will talk a lot about how she wants to put a Republican or two in her cabinet if elected and will try to divorce people in the middle from their opinions of Trump as a fixer.

How about to rebut the claim that she is afraid of doing interviews or will only do interviews with favorable media outlets?

The problem is that even in her interviews in friendly environments she hasn't answered questions.  She throws out vague word salads that have even frustrated her supporters.  That's why this media blitz she's been on hasn't been effective.  If she tries that tactic with Bret Baier she will look very bad because he won't just let it go and move on.  I am looking forward to this one.  She will either come off as presidential, which she has not so far, or prove she is not worthy of the office as many of us believe.

It's a campaign.  We're in the final stretch.  She should be out there all the time, TV, Radio, Interviews, Events.  Why would anyone say that's desperate?  Nonsense.

One interview is not going to change anyone's mind.  Did you see Donald Trump's interview with the NABJ?  If so do you think he came off as presidential?  But you're still voting for him right?

The usual suspects here didn't think she won the debate (contrary to the opinion of most analysts and a majority of viewers) so no matter how well she does, it won't change any of their minds, but as I said, I don't think that Fox viewers and the MAGA crowd are her target audience (it is the small number of undecided voters still out there).

I don't know about desperate, but definitely a change in strategy.  When she was riding the sugar high of being the new, non-Biden candidate, her team's strategy was to keep her isolated, for good reason.  The fact that she signed up for this interview implies that her team thinks it is questionable enough to take the risk.

I honestly don't know where Baier sits on the Trump spectrum, so I don't know if he'll be out for blood or just trying to look like an objective journalist.  My guess is the latter, and that that worked into the Team Kamala calculation.
