AP Sources: Kamala Harris will appear on SNL in last episode before presidential election

NEW YORK (AP) — Vice President Kamala Harris has made an unannounced trip to New York to appear on “ Saturday Night Live,” briefly stepping away from the battleground states where she’s been campaigning with just three days to go before the election.

Harris departed on Air Force Two after a campaign stop on Saturday in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was scheduled to head to Detroit, but once the aircraft was in the air, aides said it was actually going to New York.

Her appearance on the show was confirmed by three people familiar with Harris’ plans who were not authorized to speak publicly about them. It is the final SNL episode before Election Day on Tuesday.

Ain't that the truth. Just one more reason not to watch the show that hasn't been good for 2 decades.

SNL isn't the media. It's a live comedy show.

HTH.

Trump was on SNL in 2016. I can’t remember if that was the one where he made out with cross dressing Rudy though.

2015, not 2016.  It was was 1 year before the election, not one week.  Also, at that point in time, he wasn't even the Republican nominee.  I believe the point the person you quoted was making, was desperation.  I don't think 365 days prior to an election, counts as desperation.

She would be the perfect cast member to mock the kameltoe. They can act out what actually happened behind the scenes while she was VP. THAT would be funny.

Trump hosted SNL in 2015. Hillary was on SNL IN 2016 (or 2015) as well I believe.

Obama was on in 2007 and 2008. McCain was on twice in the 2008 campaign. Palin was on as well in 2008.

Long history of political candidates being on the program.

Get with it! The equal time rule has many exceptions. A show like SNL that combines current events and entertainment is one of those exceptions. Kamala was on for only 3 minutes. FOX "News" has Trump on 24/7. The 1st Amendment overrides the outdated equal time rule. Stop whining!

‘SNL’ accused of ‘ripping off’ Trump’s 2015 skit with Fallon for Kamala Harris’ surprise appearance

“Saturday Night Live” is accused of ripping off a skit that former President Donald Trump did with Jimmy Fallon on the “Tonight Show” in 2015, using the same concept for Kamala Harris’ surprise appearance.

Harris made a last-second appearance on the late-night show on Nov. 2, when she gave her fictional self — portrayed by Maya Rudolph — advice before the presidential election.

In the cold open, Rudolph’s Harris shooed away Andy Samberg, playing second gentleman Doug Emhoff, Jim Gaffigan as running mate Tim Walz and Dana Carvey’s President Joe Biden, from her dressing room in Philadelphia after discussing their campaign.

[...]

Viewers noticed the concept and set looked strikingly familiar to Donald Trump’s sketch on Jimmy Fallon’s “The Tonight Show” show spot from when he was running for president on Sept. 12, 2015.

Jimmy Fallon, a former “Saturday Night Live” member, portrayed Trump during the airing of his late-night talk show.

He sat down at what looked like nearly the exact dressing room mirror, saying “Wow, I look fantastic” when Trump – just like Kamala – appeared on the other side of the mirror.

“No, we look fantastic and I mean really fantastic,” Trump said.

The two Trumps discussed preparing for the then-second Republican Primary Debate, creating jobs, immigration, taxes, his potential vice president pick and him being “really rich.”

In both skits, which aired on NBC programs, the comedians mirrored the politicians’ hand movements and expressions as they spoke.

Yes, the condition is favoritism.  I honestly don't think this is an issue.  It's a desperation move that won't work.  Plus, I don't think anyone actually cares.  She's just as unlikeable as Hillary.

She keeps adopting his policies. Makes sense she'd rip off one if his bits. She's incapable of independent/original thought.

Meh, it's OK.  The "I don't really laugh like that, do I?" part was funny.  The PA joke at the end was good, although not pulled off well.  But all that "amala" stuff in the middle was dumb.

Also, from the applause at the beginning, I'm guessing the entire audience was comprised of Kamala staff and paid sycophants.  She has never generated 1/10th of that enthusiasm in her entire career.

It is so obvious they have become a mouthpiece for big government/anti-freedom candidates.   They should be charged with election interference.  90 percent coverage on Harris is favorable and 90 coverage on Trump is negative.  It is not a ratings thing, it is a elitist establishment propaganda thing.

SNL may have broken key airtime regulation with Kamala Harris appearance, FCC commissioner says

NBC's "Saturday Night Live" may have broken federal regulations governing airtime with the appearance of Vice President Kamala Harris this weekend, an FCC official said.

FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr says the appearance may have violated the equal time rule, a requirement that public broadcast organizations offer comparable time and placement to qualifying candidates during a major election.

Carr said Harris' appearance on SNL may have broken the rule if NBC did not also send an invitation to former President Trump.

"This is a clear and blatant effort to evade the FCC's Equal Time rule," Carr wrote of Harris' appearance. "The purpose of the rule is to avoid exactly this type of biased and partisan conduct - a licensed broadcaster using the public airwaves to exert its influence for one candidate on the eve of an election. Unless the broadcaster offered Equal Time to other qualifying campaigns.”

Trump campaign Senior Advisor Jason Miller told Fox News Digital that Trump did not receive an invite. An NBC News report also stated that a spokesperson for SNL "did not return a request for comment on whether it invited Trump to appear.”

False headlines, blatant violations of the Equal Time Rule….  These are the people who cried and litigated endlessly on “election interference” in 2016. 😆

Well, let's see...in the last few days we have had Trump riding on a garbage truck, simulating fellating a microphone and calling for Liz Cheney's exection - that might have something to do with the recent negative coverage...just sayin'...

Trump gets convicted on 24 felony counts of fraudulently trying to influence an election because of check memos on 12 checks which the public would never see.   NBC blatantly violates election law broadcast rules on a show seen by millions.   The deep state is about to crap their pants when they can't cheat theor way to victory.
