Time Magazine named Adolf Hitler "Person Of The Year" in 1938 (then called "Man Of The Year"). Just sayin'

I have ESPN on in my truck. Lately I have been hearing commercials for Trump products, shoes, watches, and now perfume.  I find it a bit off-putting that the President elect is hawking merchandise.  I do enjoy, however, the part of the commercial after Trump is done congratulating himself on being himself.  Then an announcer chimes in.  It is the same voice that does the commercials for Big Lou, the insurer.  "You know, Big Lou is like you, only he's on number two."  I find it funny that the same guy shills for Trump that shills for Big Lou.  I also find it a bit degrading or diminishing; whether for Big Lou, Trump, or both I will not say.

This is also the 66th time I have not been named.  I also have never been People magazine's sexiest man alive.  Maybe next year.

Exactly why I never take these 'awards' seriously.

The interview with Trump is a pretty solid one and very fair. In it you can read a lot of stuff about what is upcoming, what he sees as drawbacks, and you can also see where he doesn't fully believe some of the stuff he tells his MAGA crowd. The best parts are where the interviewers try to get Trump to reflect on his legacy and everything and he starts to drop the wall a little bit before pulling it back up because he doesn't want to be seen as being weak. It's good insight into his mind:

It was a fine interview but as usual he won’t really answer any hard questions.

No secret that I really don’t like Donald Trump and don’t think he was a good President last time around. Whether or if he is a good President this time depends largely on what he does, not on what he says. So we’ll see. I try to keep an open mind.

Believe what he says he will do, because this time there will be no guardrails to stop him.

I listen to ESPN radio quite a bit and never hear a single Trump advertisement.  Must be the N, liberal media market.

... what politicians will?   What hard questions did voted appointed democratic nominee Kamala Harris answer?  (hint: none. When faced with a tough questions it was "well, we need to understand that... Trump bad")

It was Time and not me that decided to name both Hitler and Trump as their Person Of The Year. 😁

That’s too bad that you’re distrustful. I want good things to happen for this country. If Trump gives us prosperity and good times I will cheer him on.

The biggest guardrail for Trump is Trump, and his desire to be loved. I honestly believe that he really doesn’t want bad things to happen and that will make him cautious.

Tim, please, he wanted the military to shoot racial-justice protesters and he had no problem with screaming toddlers being pulled from their mother's arms under his family separation policy. He is arguably a sociopath, so he doesn't care what bad things happen to people.

Is "racial justice protestors" code for "rioters and looters who were burning down cities"?  :dunno:

This is a 100% honest assessment of one of the reasons Kamala failed.  God I love how this man speaks his mind

Speaking of Kamala Harris. What do you think were her worst mistakes in the campaign?

Taking the assignment. Number one, because you have to know what you're good at.

Well to be quite fair I don’t want the military shooting rioters and looters either. Arrest yes. Shoot if they don’t surrender yes. Shooting indiscriminately? No. And all that is a job for the police, not the military.

Yeah speaking his mind on this point just shows what a jerk he is. He’s also wrong.

He cares about being loved. And when bad things happen he knows he won’t be loved. Call it sociopathic, call it transactional, whatever.

She got shellacked because people made the wrong choice, not because she wasn’t qualified. It’s absurd and embarrassing for a guy as inept as Donald Trump to claim that Kamala wasn’t ready for the job when she’s infinitely more qualified than he could ever be.

People didn't vote for her because she was a horrible candidate for president.  It wasn't even close.   She will go down, easily, as one of the worst candidates that had the nomination to run.

The people saw. She had a weak resume and no one wanted her calling the shots. She sounds like an idiot the more she talks. That’s why they hid her as much as possible.
