White Josh Allen wins MVP over Black Lamar Jackson in the most raccisss NFL MVP vote ever

Recommended Posts

Quote

Josh Allen beat out two-time winner Lamar Jackson for the Most Valuable Player award in the closest race since Matt Ryan beat out Tom Brady in 2016.

Allen, who led Buffalo to a fifth straight AFC East title, got 27 first-place votes to Jackson’s 23 and finished with 383 points. He received 22 second-place votes and one third.

Jackson, who led the Ravens to a second straight AFC North championship, got 26 second-place votes and one fourth for a total of 362 points. Barkley finished third (120 points) followed by Burrow (82) and Lions QB Jared Goff (47).

How many black voters do they have?

Burrow probably would've been unanimous had his defense just been below average instead of one of the worst all-time.

Allen was the correct pick.

Burrow by far had the best year.

That’s what OPOY is for, not MVP.

MVP is also a team award.  If Burrows defense was just "bad", not horrific, they probably win the division.  The lost 2 games to Baltimore... one in OT (by 3), and the other by 1.  Flip those two and Cincinnati wins the division at 11-6... not counting other games where if the defense was just bad, they probably win 12 to 13 games.

Allen arguably has less weaponry at his disposal than Burrow and went to AFCCG.

Saquon should have won on merit. Eagles are maybe a 10-win team without him. But since it’s a QB award, Josh Allen deserves it. I hope he wins a chip one day.

Ummmm... they won 11 last year.  Did they have Barkley?

🙄 Not technically, no. But that doesn't exactly translate to how the voting goes.

Voters know which teams are good and going to the playoffs and which don't. Non-playoff teams haven't produced a NFL MVP since... I dunno. Too lazy to research, but a long damn time.

They utterly collapsed down the stretch and Barkley undoubtedly won the Eagles multiple games this year.

Neither one deserves it. The REAL MVP is Saquan. He has CARRIED that team to the superbowl while rushing for over 2k yards. The fact he did not win shows they really do not care about who is the MVP. Only who is the best QB.

So their number 1 ranked defense had no part in anything this year?

Eagles go from a bottom 3 defense to a top 2 if not 1st.

But the RB carried the team to a few more wins himself.

When some of you talk football it is rather cute.

There's definitely an argument to be made for Saquon, but the Eagles have arguably the best roster in football. That should be considered. The last time a RB won MVP, Adrian Peterson in 2012, he WAS the offense. Barkley has a better QB, line, receivers, and defense than AP did.

They have the best roster in football because the other teams have to account for saquan on every play.  This is the same team they had last year. The only real addition was Saquan.

You take Barkley off the Eagles they win 11 games.  As evidence last year with a terrible defense.  Now put Barkley on last years squad with a terrible defense.

You take Josh Allen off the Bills and they win 5 games.

Tell me I am wrong.

You are correct sir. Some people ought to stick to fantasy, not actual football. Vic Fangio is the eagles MVP.

What makes Josh Allen more valuable than Mahomes, Saquon or Hurts who are all in The Superbowl while Allen is eating Wings watching on TV?

Well true, but this year they voted Lamar Jackson the best QB by awarding him as the one and only 1st Team All-Pro. I don't know what MVP voters even think about in casting their vote.

I've admitted to being wrong plenty of times. That's taking the L. Practice what you preach, Horsemanure.

I'll repeat, when was the last time a non-playoff team produced an MVP? I found some time to look into it.

O.J. Simpson, 1973. Johnny U, 1967. That's it. Don't hate the messenger, fucknut.

If that's the case someone on the 15-1 team headed to the super bowl should have won it.

So anyone want to go back and review the claim that Barkley had more to do with their success this year than their defense?
