Who would ever choose chicken breast

Recommended Posts

When chicken thighs are better 100 times out of 100. OK maybe I'm missing some instances, but I just never eat chicken breast and like it.

I agree mostly. But I would never put chicken thigh meat in chicken salad. Or even in chicken enchiladas. They each have their place.

Yeah. It's filled with the Chinese virus. Have fun with that.

I only eat white meat in both chicken/turkey. I guess it was from growing up with parents that considered chicken a lower income persons food , to be polite. I love chicken. My wife eats dark meat but not your boy

What do you think this is rocket science, of course there is dark meat pot pie. I always make sure it’s only white for me

Dark chicken meat is awesome by itself. Terrible in chicken salad, enchiladas, and pot pie.

There is no way to dispute that.

When cooked properly it's not dry.  Both are good and have their spots.

NO!!!

Don't say something I have to agree with you about. :wall:

If you season a chicken breast with salt and pepper, then throw it in the oven, of course it is going to taste bland.  Like others said, with the right seasoning...and depending on what dish it goes in, a breast is better than a thigh.

Now, on a grill or a smoker, a thigh or the whole leg quarter is the way to go 10 out of 10 times.  And I prefer the Hot and Fast method to get the skin as crispy as possible.

A lot of people overcook chicken. That's why it's dry.

But they freak.out if there is a tiny bit of pink. So let them eat dry.

Just baking it in might not work out. Idk I'm not that big of a chef. I often like to bake the thighs before I put it into something like a soup.

No. That's too much fatty goo all in one place. But you do you. We all have different tastes.

Bake the thighs first, at least partially, then put into the pie.

I eat thighs. Love them. But with skin on and all only themselves with a salad on the side.

... and chicken breast is more appropriate for certain dishes.

while I don't have issue keeping them moist, i understand how most home cooks dry them out by over-cooking.

Avocado oil and blackened seasoning on Skinless thighs in the air fryer are my go to.

I do breasts too but marinate with Greek yogurt and seasoning first.   Can`t taste the yogurt after cooking and they are moister.

Lol my wife just proved this. She took raw thigh and threw it in a creamy baked dish. Not good at all. If she had baked them first like I would have done, the dish would have been a lot better.

I have had a breaded and fried thigh that was better than any breast.

I don't remember having a grilled thigh sandwich.

I am not talking about a grilled sandwich. I am talking about a regular chicken sandwich and I think that chicken breast is the best chicken meat for that.

Wife cooks the breasts in the oven and they come out delicious. Juicy and tender. Legs on the grill slow with BBQ sauce I do.
