Any idea how the Denver Broncos acquired SB MVP Von Miller?

Recommended Posts

The Broncos drafted him #2 overall in the 2011 NFL Draft (behind Cam Newton)

Do you know how they got the #2 pick? They went 4 and 12 the 2010 NFL season.

Must be nice to be able to throw a season and get the #2 pick in the draft.

The New England Patriots haven't lost less than 10 games since the 2002 season.. Including this year will be 4 years with no 1st round pick.

New England Patriots. Absolute DOMINANCE for 15 years running.

You must be jealous of the Lions, Raiders, and Browns then...

They must have some pretty good front office staffs to draft 12 year olds.

That's how they do it in MLB

NE fans really get worked up when their squad isn't the lead story.

Don't worry cupcake, they start this whole thing over again next September.

This, and the fact that the only reason Manning was on the field is because he's been cannonballing HGH for a few years.

Is that why he has a fivehead ?

I think that you mean that the Patriots haven't lost more than 6 games since 2002. Even that year, they lost 7.

Gonna be a lot of sad Pats fans when Brady retires. I remember being cocky and arrogant when Elway was here. I actually suspect we'll lose about 1/2 of you guys within 3 years of Brady retiring. I realize this is the first truly elite QB you guys have had so I can't blame you for acting as though it's always going to be that way.

Well, I mean that is all fine and dandy, but what does he want? A cookie? The Patriots have had success for a long time, which is tough to do. The biggest reasons are that Belichick has been there and Brady is not a greedy bastard. Because Brady is willing to take less money on his deals, the team is never in cap hell and looking to put him out to pasture (see: Manning, Favre).

If those pieces are the formula for success, then good luck because you are not going to find those things very often (ever again?). Instead, you have to build with good drafting and some luck. However, that is the exact parity that the NFL is looking for.

Wait. Have they or have the not lost 10 games since 2001? :D

Bledsoe wasn't bad. He was the first $100m QB. I have been a season-ticket holder for 20+ years and the season ticket waiting list is 65k deep. Not sure that they will have a massive exodus of fans when Brady retires. This town is pretty loyal to its sports teams even when they stink.

There are definitely those out there but there are a lot of people that didn't become fans until the Brady era (hell, probably everyone of them under 22 or 23 years old). At this point you can't really call them bandwagon fans since it's been 15 years but there's a huge subset of fans that have not known a non-Brady Patriots team. This run has definitely built them a fan base that will be around for the next 50 years. It's essentially where I was as a Broncos fan through the Elway era (was born in '79 so I never really knew anything before Elway).

As far as season tickets go, it does depend a LOT on how the team's doing. When I was a kid my dad got on the waiting list and he ended up waiting 11 years to get his. When I signed up 10 years ago the waiting list was 13 years. During the Tebow era they told me the waiting list dropped to 9 years but then Manning came and it's up to 14. Who knows at this point when I'll ever get tickets.

The waiting list and sellout streak started before Brady. It started when Parcells and Bledsoe got to the Patriots. Sports is big in Boston and always will be. There is a common misconception that no one followed the Patriots before 2001. While the team never really won much before that, they still had a very active fan base. If you win in this town, then you are set for a very long time.

Sorry, lived in the area. Many years the Patriot games were blacked out. And that was after they went to their first super bowl. They were also this close to moving to Hartford, and no one really cared. Kraft kept the team in Foxborough, not the Fans.

Ed's got a bit of an obsession with the Pats and it causes him to degrade other teams to make him feel better about his team but so what, real die hard fans are like that. I'm the same way, just not able to be as active on the boards as Ed.

The last blackout was in 1993.

People cared that the Patriots were going to go to Hartford. There was plenty of backlash and enough that the state gave in on infrastructure improvements along Route 1 that Kraft wanted. Not that they followed through on those improvements, but at least the politicians paid it some lip service by passing legislation that they eventually ignored.

Avocado ice cream ain't illegal. It also ain't very effective in treating injured football players. But at like $200 a pop, TB12 can literally afford to take less in salary. So let's stop with the Saint Thomas narrative.

As far as HGH....if Manning is proven guilty of taking it, then it'll cast a huge shadow over his legacy. If not, then I'm not gonna cry about a cover up or a conspiracy or whatever else the chowda heads cry about. I think there has to be some suspicion concerning PED use. He went from all time great seasons to being the worst QB in the league in like 2 years. That's a huge drop off.

People were into the patriots the minute it was clear that they were committed to actually competing. New stadium, coach Parcells, Drew Bledsoe, etc. All of that stems from Robert Kraft buying the team.

You wouldn't know any of this because you're not a Pats fan and haven't followed the team since the 80s or earlier, so it's rather presumptuous of you to be telling us who we are as fans :dunno:

Yeah because Brady was never demonized by YOU and millions of others in the absence of proof.

Do you really not see what a massive focking hypocrite you are on this issue? Explain yourself instead of constantly dodging it.

Seriously people buy that no questions ask but somehow they just KNOW Brady cheated even though there's nothing at all linking him to stupid deflated footballs (that probably weren't even artificially deflated to start with!).

Fock the stupid haters

Show me where I've demonized Tom Brady? He's one of, if not the greatest QB of all time. He and BB are awesome. What they've achieved is amazing. They rarely have bad games, and if they do it has more with the other team just being better than them. They never beat themselves.

So what exactly am I dodging here? Someone alluded to some sort of altruistic display by Brady because he's not greedy like other QBs. That's BS. Brady gets his from the Pats....they just do it a little differently. I haven't placed a value on any of that. Just pointing out that TB12 Sports Therapy allows the Pats to handle Brady's salary differently than other teams do with their star QBs.

And since pointing that out we've got dudes talking about avocado ice cream and me demonizing Tom Brady. And I'm the one dodging stuff?

How much do you think that the Patriots pay TB12 Sports Therapy? How much of that do you think Brady gets?

The reason that Brady takes less money is because his wife is filthy rich and not because of some deal with a trainer.

Okay so you've never called Brady a cheater or suggested that his super bowl victory last year was somehow illegitimate? Sorry I must have you confused with pretty much every other poster here then
