wiffleball 4,640 Posted February 13, 2016 I know this is truly one of those third rail subjects, But consider the facts.Girls these days Mature physically Much more quickly than they did even a decade ago, They are far more sophisticated, far more manipulative, dress far more provocatively, And know how to game the system far better Then girls of a similar age when I was growing up. I know this topic is particularly anathema To anyone who has Daughters or relatives Her of a teenage Era.But seriously, In an era where Teenage girls Are routinely Learning Oral skills for earlier Than ever before, Routinely sending naked photos of themselves across the internet, Who are very savvy in terms of The legal ramifications of pre adult sex, Shouldn't we at least address this? Here in Colorado, We had damn near an entire high school That should have been brought up on Child pron charges, but because it was so widespread, The DA basically just turned a blind eye To the entire situation. Other enforce the law or repeal it Or at least Modify it.Nobody forced these girls To distribute c****************, Nobody forced them Into other more explicit acts, But because again he was so widespread, The DA Essentially Violated the statutes of the land. That act, in and of itself, Is it gross dereliction of duty. But, Basically common sense Given The widespread nature of the crime.Seems to me, At a minimum the legal age of consent Should be reduced given The physical mental Emotional and intellectual Levels of the participants these days. We have already started to see Changes in statutory rape laws, Wherein If the two participants are within 3 or 4 years Different from each other, the charge is significantly lessened. This differs from the many many cases in the past Where an 18 year old man / boy Went to jail For having sex with a 16 or 17 year old girl. Based upon that, If we are currently Reassessing sentencing regulations For minor drug offenses, We should be doing the same thing In this arena as well. And no, I am NOT asserting That a 40 year old Who has sex with a 14 year old Should get anything less Then the very harshest sentence. There Have just been so many Horrible, draconian stories Of teenagers being Branded as sexual predators for life, having their whole lives screwed up at an early age, Because of child pron, And/or Sexual violations. When most of us Even decades past Had the sex Long before it was so called legal. titans&bucs&bearsohmy! 2,745 Posted February 13, 2016 In seriousness, I would advocate removing the strict liability nature of the crime. If you made a good faith effort to determine her age and she lied, or showed fake id, you should be acquired. I know a guy who met a girl in a club when we were in our last year of law school. It was 21+ only. He asked her age, she showed him a fake. Numerous witnesses to this. He hit it. Her daddy found out an pressed charges. He ended up quitting school, as he would never get through the bar background check. Still owes the $200,000 in loans though. And he is now a registered sex offender. That ain't right. fandandy 3,311 Posted February 13, 2016 Some chicks have such a small window before they start to look like their fat, disgusting mothers. Maybe make an exception for them. Also, age of consent should be nationalized. Maybe 16? If you are old enough to legally operate a motor vehicle then I guess you are old enough to fock. I think it's 18 here and that seems ridiculous.

I hate the system for things like that. Completely the girls fault yet the guy gets punished even though the girl is at a 21+ club, shows her fake ID, has multiple witnesses to it, yet the guy is charged and his life ruined. Same with rape. Girls that claim rape even though they aren't raped. I understand we don't blame the victim of rape but at the same time we shouldn't have the "guilty til proven innocent" verdict already in our minds when a guy is accused of rape. There's been tons of cases like that. One in particular about a football star who was going to college to play and was an NFL prospect but a girl said she raped him only to find out years later that she was lying. But damage was done and the kid had his scholarships revoked and wouldn't be playing in the NFL. Kids life was ruined. There should be EXTREMELY harsh penalties for women who lie about rape
wiffleball 4,640 Posted February 13, 2016 Case in point, some quote obviously troubled Unquote German teenage girl claim to have been raped by a bunch of Syrian refugees And it was world global news. Then she recanted and it was a f****** blurb at best.

Djgb13 2,338 Posted February 13, 2016 See: Duke lacrosse, Tawanna Brawley, etc... Oh i remember Duke lacrosse. But their lives were essentially ruined because the b1tch lied. What was done to her? I don't remember but I don't think anything was done. I think women like that should be fined and have their prison sentence double what the guys get

peenie 1,690 Posted February 16, 2016 the average age of women getting married between 1950 -1970 was 19. today the age is 26. the same gap holds true for birth of first child. there are less children being born now than ever before. i really don't see the proof of women/girls being more sexually active or seductive than previous times. if anything, i think girls are more empowered and less vulnerable due to laws protecting them. here is a nice stat for you: Between 1991 and 2013, the percentage of teens who reported having had sex before the age of 13 decreased from 10.2% to 5.6%

penultimatestraw 473 Posted February 16, 2016 You guys act like there is an epidemic of women seducing men and fabricating rape charges. I suspect there are a sh!t ton more women who have actually been sexually assaulted, yet never speak up. And even though girls may be physically maturing earlier, there is no way in hell they are more advanced mentally/psychologically/emotionally than in the past, making them easy victims for older males. The only solution to this "problem" is lowering the age of consent, or excusing two minors who have consensual sex - which do you prefer?
