Woodward to drop new Trump Book

Recommended Posts

That wolf guy who wrote the first book seems like the kind of guy that probably already has a book published about the Indonesian soccer team or whatever. But Woodward has serious set of chops. I'm be to see what he has to say.

Always love “face to face” books where the author has never sat down with the president.

Sure it will be very impartial. No way...an anti trump book conveniently vomitted out near midterms...never would have guessed. Wont work....but its cute.

According to sources with knowledge of the book, "Fear" is based on hundreds of hours of taped interviews with first-hand sources and provides an in-depth, probing account of Trump's thoughts and decisions on everything from national security to the Russia investigation to the 2017 white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. In addition to interviewing dozens of administration officials, the source said, Woodward was given memos, documents, diaries and notes, including some handwritten by the President.

1. I wonder if he FTF with Nixon?

2. He did a book on Bush jr and Obama. it'll be interesting to read some of the responses to the Obama book. If the Democrats hate that book, then that's probably a good sign.

Bob Woodward: Trump's aides stole his papers 'to protect the country'

(CNN)WARNING: This story contains graphic language.

President Donald Trump's closest aides have taken extraordinary measures in the White House to try to stop what they saw as his most dangerous impulses, going so far as to swipe and hide papers from his desk so he wouldn't sign them, according to a new book from legendary journalist Bob Woodward.

Woodward's 448-page book, "Fear: Trump in the White House," provides an unprecedented inside-the-room look through the eyes of the President's inner circle. From the Oval Office to the Situation Room to the White House residence, Woodward uses confidential background interviews to illustrate how some of the President's top advisers view him as a danger to national security and have sought to circumvent the commander in chief.

Many of the feuds and daily clashes have been well documented, but the picture painted by Trump's confidants, senior staff and Cabinet officials reveal that many of them see an even more alarming situation — worse than previously known or understood. Woodward offers a devastating portrait of a dysfunctional Trump White House, detailing how senior aides — both current and former Trump administration officials — grew exasperated with the President and increasingly worried about his erratic behavior, ignorance and penchant for lying.

Chief of staff John Kelly describes Trump as an "idiot" and "unhinged," Woodward reports. Defense Secretary James Mattis describes Trump as having the understanding of "a fifth or sixth grader." And Trump's former personal lawyer John Dowd describes the President as "a ###### liar," telling Trump he would end up in an "orange jump suit" if he testified to special counsel Robert Mueller.

"He's an idiot. It's pointless to try to convince him of anything. He's gone off the rails. We're in crazytown," Kelly is quoted as saying at a staff meeting in his office. "I don't even know why any of us are here. This is the worst job I've ever had."

I'm sure a calm and measure reaction is being drafted by the White House for POTUS to tweet shortly.

you'll definitely want to check out the full transcript of the conversation. Turns out that Woodward requested a face-to-face six different times. Trumps staff admitted it. And Trump himself admitted he had been asked previously when he was confronted on it.

So, first pass, we've got Mattis on record as saying Trump has the understanding of the 6th grader. We've got Kelly on the record saying Trump is an idiot. That one has come up before. His first Secretary of State said the same thing.

and, we have what amounts to an administrative coup d'etat wherein Trump's own lawyer stole papers off his desk to keep Trump from signing disastrous trade rulings.

We know the usual types here Will stick their head in the sand. So what's important to note isn't that they do so, but how they do so.

Right from the get-go, off the table are the usual tropes of "well I'm not going to trust Anonymous sources! " And the other one of, "well he or she is just a bitter ex employee who only worked for me for what? Like 59 days? They were basically the coffee boy!"

What's going to be interesting is if somebody can keep Trump from going batshiiit and firing some of these people in the next few weeks or so.

I'm sure this is the same old, same old...I'm sure Hillary has stacks of papers she stole from Obama's desk. :ninja:

Bullshit. Trump don't know how to handwrite.

More 3rd hand gossip, as told to Woodward by people that no one here would have as a friend.

... But that Trump would personally appoint as some of the most powerful people in the world.

Yeah, that's not helping.

What I'm really interested to find out about is any commentary from Ivanka and Jared. Remember that Jared was basically hung out to dry. Trump is on record as having said something like you know don't fuuck with my kids. Jared on the other hand...

just giving Jared's family history and the fact that his dad either was or is in prison under sort of similar circumstances, again, it seems like Ivanka is going to have to make a choice here at some point.

The one thing that seems really really clear here for the past several months is that when the noose started tightening, we went from hearing about Jared covering everything. He had an agenda like 22 different major items ranging from prison reform to Middle East peace. And now we haven't heard diddly diick about Jared or Ivanka.

Once again the mentally ill (wiff) and uninformed (honcho) get played for the fools they are.

https://www.militarytimes.com/news/your-military/2018/09/04/mattis-calls-revelations-about-president-trump-in-woodwards-new-book-fiction/

“The contemptuous words about the President attributed to me in Woodward’s book were never uttered by me or in my presence,” Mattis said in a statement. “While I generally enjoy reading fiction, this is a uniquely Washington brand of literature, and his anonymous sources do not lend credibility.”

Kelly issued a similar denial through the White House.
“The idea I ever called the President an idiot is not true," Kelly said in a statement.
He called the book passage “another pathetic attempt to smear people close to President Trump and distract from the administration’s many successes.”

“In serving in this administration, the idea that I would show contempt for the elected Commander-in-Chief, President Trump, or tolerate disrespect to the office of the President from within our Department of Defense, is a product of someone’s rich imagination," Mattis said.

Yeah what do you expect them to say? The good thing about having a heavyweight like Woodward and you can bet probably by the next round of Sunday shows he shows up with transcripts with dates and times. But how many times are we seeing this story? Multiple inside staffers have called Trump far worse. Then when they're called on it, they know how vindictive this petty little Tyrant is and they say no no no I never said that!

And then they leave or get fired and...

remember all the effusive praise that Cohen had for Trump? How hed take a bullet for Trump? And now?

Remember, that all these guys have to do, all any one of them has to do is file a libel suit. Most of them were given if not all of them were given Advance copies of the book. Especially the parts it included them. They had every opportunity to say no no no. They have every opportunity to take Woodward to court now. Not a peep in that direction though is there?

just think about how divisive the last years in the bush White House were. Bush certainly wasn't respected for his intellect. And bush and Cheney were in open Warfare. And you still never had anything like this.

But yeah, color me not shocked that Trumps closest advisors aren't coming out publicly on their own and saying Trump is a petulant incompetent demented lunatic.

That's how this game works. They get to see their peace, then cover their ass.

Lol

Bandwagon Attention W hore

Yeah, you know these first time come out of nowhere authors that have absolutely no background whatsoever in writing about presidents and presidential scandals. Oh boy! Where do they find these guys!?

People believe the lies of Trump...butbdont believe Woodward.

Before taking these denials...understand that others before denied things too...then had to admit it afterward Woodward showed his proof. The guy is notorious for taking detailed notes and recording things. There is a reason none of those people denying it will sue him for libel (because then he can release the recordings of them saying those things). He isnt some two bit crap ass reporter.

The Trump cult has a big problem with calling anything they disagree with fake...its very sad.

Trump tweets about Woodward from 12-17

"Only the Obama WH can get away with attacking Bob Woodward"

"Sean's interview with Bob Woodward on @hannityshow was very interesting--Woodward was great"

"Must read column by Bob Woodward explaining how Obama pushed for sequestration & promised no tax increase"

"Thank you to Bob Woodward who said, "That is a garbage document...it never should have been presented...Trump's right to be upset (angry)"

---------------------------

LMAO!

So, it's legit trusted factual reporting when Woodward is pointing the finger elsewhere, but when the finger is pointed at Trump it's all lies, fake, and defamation? He is crying this morning about wanting the libel laws changed. He is repeating himself like a madman by tweeting the same message over and over. Book is all fiction and so very boring, huh? I am so sure one of the most proven, respected, truthful, unbiased, and acclaimed writers of American politics is "making it all up" in a 440+ page book that will be his 15th best seller by next week. Trump is going to work today knowing for a fact that his administration thinks he is a complete joke.

You guys should listen to the audio tape between Woodward and Trump. This is right before Woodward release the book. Two things of note.

Trump keeps saying how fair that Woodward has always been.

Trump keeps asking why didn't you asked me to sit with you? I would have loved to have done an interview with you! And Woodward comes back with I asked 6 different people to be able to sit with you. And then when finally confronted on it, Trump had to admit oh yeah...

The presence of tapes may very well come back to bite some of these guys who're denying right now.

I don't think for an instant that any Trumpsters mind will be changed by this book. But where I find some impact is the book seems to be making Trump even more nutty. And like I said, will be interesting to see if Trump doesn't just explode and fire a crap load of people because of the stress.

Best part? When Trump tweeted that Woodward was a Dem operative. I think even the most hardened Republican had to laugh at that. Because Trump's book on Clinton out of all the books he's written was seen as the most brutal. Clinton hates Woodward. 😂

I think it's clear to everyone...the liberal media got to Woodward, Omarosa & Wolff. How else can you explain 3 different authors writing books that describe an eerily similar dysfunctional White House. Has to be a conspiracy.

Trump called Sessions a retarded southerner. Agree 100% with his assessment.

Trump also said that Sessions lacks the Ivy League education he prefers. lol
