Woble Eth 11 Posted August 21, 2012 So I am picking 4th in a 10 team re-draft standard league.. yeah, I could go Rodgers, or Megatron, but with the depth at QB and WR, I was leaning to McFadden, over CJ.. Yeah, I know, no more than 13 games ever in his NFL career, blinks and gets injured, came out like gang busters last season then * POOF * went the foot and season against KC. However I think this is the year this punk stays healthy. No doubting his sick talent.. No Michael Bush in the mix.. I have a strange suspicion he explodes (well, not explodes, the freaking guy would literally combust).. I am thinking he has a legit shot at an MVP season. Lord knows he'll obviously be there at 4, but I doubt he will be there at 17.. Super risk, indeed.. But imagine if he actually shocks the world stays healthy... Weeee. montana 89 Posted August 21, 2012 I got him in the 2nd - 2.07 or 17th overall on Sunday. I had the 4th pick too.
montana 89 Posted August 21, 2012 BTW - I paired him with 1.04 Rice.
Woble Eth 11 Posted August 21, 2012 BTW - I paired him with 1.04 Rice. That would be marvelous, I am just watching him ascend in the rankings each week.. I've seen him as high as 4th.. a few have him at the 8 spot. I was thinking of maybe trading out of the 4th position and moving down, but that crap never works. lol Rice and McFadden. Sweet indeed my friend. Just not sure that luck will befall me.
montana 89 Posted August 21, 2012 Yeah, I got pretty lucky to get both where I did that's for sure. My top 4 picks were insanely lucky. I could draft 1000 times & would only get this lucky once. 1. Rice 2. DMC 3. Graham 4. Julio What is your scoring like?

The scoring is pretty standard, no ppr, 4 QB TD, 6 Run catch TD, .05 pass yd .1 per rush rec yard, etc.. if healthy, McFadden could be a beast. Of course, that is one big IF. lol

montana 89 Posted August 21, 2012 HOLYCHIT! What's the rest of your roster look like? QB: Ryan & Flacco RB: Rice, DMC, D.Martin, K.Smith, R.Williams, R.Jennings WR: Julio, A.Brown, Maclin, Young, Amendola TE: Graham & Cook K: Crosby D: Eagles .05 PPR, 4pt. TD pass
montana 89 Posted August 21, 2012 Jesus... You play with a bunch retards! Friends & neighbours league, low dollar, 10 team redraft. 1 owner is new/never played before, 1 is a 2nd year player, the 8 left (including myself), 5+ years experience. I know, I know. I play in a big $ 16 team redraft & when I look at this 10 team roster I just drafted I just shake my head. If I didn't draft it, I'd call b.s.
mgs316 14 Posted August 21, 2012 Probably #9. Roll the dice, hope he stays healthy.

TD pass lack of competition aside, that's a killer team. Every WR on your team is on my "try like hell to get" list. Honestly (excluding kicker and DST) there isn't a guy on that list who I'm not high on right now except Flacco.

Frozenbeernuts 2,448 Posted August 21, 2012 If i were taking a rb in the first i would take him as the 4th rb. No way in hell do i draft cj1k ahead of him.

Borat33 17 Posted August 21, 2012 Personally he is my 9th ranked guy. I like him but there is the risk factor. But If he can stay healthy, hell even if he misses a a game or 2 he can finish top 3. Just gotta hope he is healthy for the stretch run.
420allstars 13 Posted August 21, 2012 mid 2nd seems about right for that kind of risk reward player.. ask yourself this: can you really see him playing 16 games this year? is that what you want out of your first round pick? I cant see how you pass on Rodgers IMO

You still considering yourself lucky when all 4 of those guys go down with season ending injury in the 1st week? You're lucky based on what preseason rankings and projections tell you. Based on how you look on paper before a down has been played. It rarely goes that way.
Fantasy Noob 10 Posted August 21, 2012 I have him in the seventh or eigth spot myself with Foster, Rice, McCoy, Rodgers, Megatron, Brady going before him. These six are essentially locks barring injury to end up as top 5 in their respective positions which is something that applies to no other players in my evaluation. Sorry I can't justify picking a TE in the first or the second round ever thats a wasted pick in my mind but I love seeing other people do it. So I would try to trade back if I were you. Maybe pick up an additional 5th rounder or swap positions in the third for an earlier pick there. I also got McFadden in the second round of a draft with the 8th overall pick of a 10 team draft. I am scared of MJD; guy is tough as nails but holdout and huge numbers of carries scare me off. If somehow he fell to the third round the potential reward balances and overcomes the risk for me. Flgatorguy87 160 Posted August 21, 2012 I am taking him 4th, but thats accounting for keepers. Rice, Rodgers, Calvin all off the board so I expect it to go: 1. Foster 2. McCoy 3. CJ2k 4. Me--McFadden The only thing I am struggling with is the No.3 guy might take Brees and then I would have to choose betweenn DMC and CJ2k. I feel like it will be Mcfadden but can't guarantee I won't change my mind. I am keeping Stafford for a 10th and J. Graham for an 8th.

Lamb of God 15 Posted August 21, 2012 I have to take him at the 7 spot. Brady will probably b available but its a ppr league and only 4pts per pass td and McFadden will b the last of what i consider high upside rb's . Hopefully I can get Brady on the turn but I doubt it. If megaton falls I'd take him over McFadden though but not planning on it.

tanatastic 2,062 Posted August 21, 2012 I gotta say 7-8 is where DMC optimists need to take him. CJ is a safer pick with some actual upside now that his ghetto trick azz is in camp and getting some carries this year. Thats the big 3, cj, rodgers, mega then dmc. I wouldnt hold it against anyone if they opted out of him in the 1st round altogether tho.
We Tigers 71 Posted August 21, 2012 Probably #5 overall, after the consensus top 3 and Calvin. I'll look for this year's Stafford later.
Gepetto 1,483 Posted August 21, 2012 I think I'd take him 1st overall and I kind of regret trading him away at the end of last year and keeping AP, but I didn't know he'd recover from a lis franc injury and look so good this preseason.
throttlers 0 Posted August 22, 2012 Don't ya just love it here sometimes? 70% of replies are insults, 20% are helpful, 10% are both. Let's see if I can give a helpful insult. I wouldn't draft such high risk players in round 1. The old saying is true "Your first round pick won't win it for you, but it can lose it for you." Rd 1 and 2 is not where I am looking to make boom or bust picks. I want safe, consistent producers with my first 2 picks. I would think about it if he fell to rd 3 which he won't........fktards.......almost forgot to throw in the insutlt!
MDC 8,119 Posted August 22, 2012 I'd sooner take Forte than DMC.
mobb_deep 921 Posted August 22, 2012 I'd have to be pretty high to take him. +1 And I'm generally pretty high when I draft, so drafting DMAC is likely.
ricanrockers 39 Posted August 22, 2012 I was extremely high on drafting DMC last year, because and I knew if he got hurt, Bush was capable of coming off the bench and producing. This year, if DMC goes down, I don't have the confidence that his backups can produce like Bush did. I have 1 weeks left to my draft, If I see anything out of Jones, Goodson or Miller that could change my mind, then I might consider drafting him but for now, I can't......He's too injury prone! syracuse911 0 Posted August 22, 2012 After getting burnt last year by injuries I just cannot bring myself to risk taking this guy in the first this year. If im picking late in the first and its a PPR and the top QBs are gone I will probably take Jimmy Graham before I take McFadden. Second round I will start to consider it. Still will be tough because you just know he is probably getting hurt. The best case scenario is you are waiting on the game time decision week in and week out. What sucks about that is most of his games are gonna be west coast games too so depending on your roster you wont be able to risk waiting to see if he is playing. BigMilk 40 Posted August 22, 2012 The earliest he should go is pick 8. The big 3 RBs, QBs and Calvin should go 1-7. Room for debate after that, but I wouldn't let him get past me if I'm picking 8.
