Funny how when Trump uses a figure of speech he's inciting violence, but when YOUR people use one they get a free pass. You guys and your double standards.

The democratic party just tried to assassinate its political opponent.

Former Senator Claire McCaskill recently declared on MSNBC that Trump is more dangerous than Hitler and Mussolini. This rhetoric is what got us here. https://x.com/endwokeness/status/1812307199470800897?s=61&t=oX9G006TUZ9alBtC5c4uMQ

If you genuinely believe he will be a "dictator on day one" and bring about "the end of our democracy", because your democrat leaders have repeatedly beaten you over your waterhead for years with that narrative, why would you not feel an obligation to take him out?

Going to bed now (it’s nearly 2am here.) Good night everyone. To anyone reading this who is a Trump supporter: I’m very sorry this happened. I know you’re angry but it’s not the fault of “the liberals” or “the left” or Biden or the media. It’s the fault of those who did it. If we could come out of this affair with a rejection of political violence, no matter who the target or instigator is, then that would be a positive. In the meantime I wish everyone here well, even those who don’t feel the same towards me.

Remember when Kathy Griffin held up a bloody Trump head? Libs have been pushing violence against Trump since before he was President.

It’s a legit question to ask how the gunman was able to get up there and take a shot. But it’s pretty pathetic to attack the secret service and claim they’re guilty of trying to murder Trump when you see in the video those heroic people jumping on Trump to shield him and putting themselves in the potential line of fire to walk him off the stage to safety. They did exactly what they were supposed to do and I think people ought to be ashamed of themselves for trying to impugn their integrity as they put their lives on the line

Yes, thank you for agreeing with me that Trump used the term bloodbath as a figure of speech. Like Biden saying to put Trump in the bullseye.

I saw that. It’s going to be a big story. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I can safely say with 100% certainty that there will not be a good flow of truth and information as this investigation unfolds.

I’m sure you guys have already beaten this to death, but I’ll say this. If the left can’t handle Trump winning and this is what they resort to. Which is violence. You’re going to lose at that too.

Since this is a topic, do you not hear the rhetoric from Trump, MAGA folks? It’s not like this is a one way street. Hopefully everyone will chill the fock out now, this is a wake up call and gives everyone some perspective. It will probably happen for about a week, and then go back to normal.

Video of someone perched on a roof isn't proof of shlt. Ever think that maybe he was part of SS or LE? This video means nothing.

About the worst possible thing for our fragile democracy would be for Trump (or Biden) to be assassinated. This is terrible.

Biden still hasn't issued a statement. Days after saying it was time to put a bullseye on Trump. I think Biden should be prosecuted for inciting this violence.

No we don't. We should stop pointing fingers and attributing blame until we have some facts.

This event will be a huge impediment for the Democrats. Their entire platform was predicated on rhetoric to portray Trump as some existential threat to Democracy. Now the Trump folks can attribute all that to this event. So the main weapon they were using is being negated. They cannot talk about better policies or outcomes, now they cannot vilify their opponent. This is a tough one for them moving forward.

Yes on both counts. Going with my son (he's 28). We have tickets for W practice round, and Th/F rounds. We just got a free upgrade to a club kinda thing for Wednesday -- covered, bar and food, TVs, restrooms, on the 18th hole. If we like it (and/or the weather looks bad for Th/F), I'll look into paying to upgrade those last two days, presuming I can. It's only money, why not enjoy it? Arriving in Edinburgh Saturday night, staying there until Tuesday morning. Got my Rick Steves guide and audio tours. Then renting a car and heading to the west coast for a tour of the Oban distillery, and check out the town/views of the Hebrides. Then drive down to Troon. May take a few jaunts into Glasgow for dinner during this part, which is pretty close. Drive back to Edinburgh Saturday -- not sure what we are doing that day, other than a pub to catch some of the tourney. I actually was just looking into going to Stirling castle and another distillery or two on the way back. Sunday we have tickets to the Edinburgh castle. Monday I fly back -- he is staying another week; his GF is flying out to meet him. I'm not sure exactly his plans, but they include staying in a castle somewhere. I wish I was staying another week, doing a 3-4 day golf package, and spending a few days in the highlands. Maybe next year. I'll try to remember to look for a poker chip marker. In fact, maybe I'll look for something small, like that, to send to whoever wins the EdEx next week. I certainly will be swag shopping.
