Jeremy 0 Posted June 26, 2006 Gotta to agree with Irvin. He's not only irritating, he doesn't even seem to offer anything unique to any of the discussions. You can see the other guys on the set rolling their eyes after some of the stupid things he says.

NewbieJr 541 Posted June 26, 2006 Irvin is horrible. His sticking up for Owens last year cost him any repectability he may have earned. Steven A. is also a blowhard. He seems to like to hear himself talk. Although Berman seems to get dumped on a lot, I still like him. I also really like John Saunders.

edjr 6,600 Posted June 26, 2006 Sean Salisbury is a douche too. Lets not forget the wondeful crew of Around the Horn J.A. Adande, Los Angeles Times (pretty cool) Jim Armstrong, The Denver Post (annoying, but hardly ever on) Kevin Blackistone, The Dallas Morning News (not so bad) Tim Cowlishaw, The Dallas Morning News (the coolest guy on the show) Jay Mariotti, Chicago Sun-Times (can be annoying, but Guillen says he's a f@ggot, so we'll let him slide) Jackie MacMullan, The Boston Globe (very intelligent and brings a lot to the table) Woody Paige, The Denver Post/Cold Pizza (can be annoying, but that his schtick) Bill Plaschke, Los Angeles Times (pretty solid, pretty bad west coast bias) Bob Ryan, The Boston Globe (awesome columnist, knows his stuff) Michael Smith, The Boston Globe/ESPN.com columnist (another really cool person)
surferskin 30 Posted June 26, 2006 Sean Salisbury is a douche too. it's funny they normally either bring in former players that are either: former GREAT players or bench warmers that are very insightful. he's definitely neither...he sucked and he's dumb as fock. Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted June 26, 2006 I am not necessarily annoyed by John Clayton's personality, but I look at the hair on the side of his head and can't figure out whether he has the worst comb-forward in history or whether he is a cancer patient. Sho Nuff 720 Posted June 26, 2006 Bob Ryan, The Boston Globe (awesome columnist, knows his stuff) Awesome? Knows his stuff? Like when he talked about Vanderbilt a few years ago in the NCAA tournament? Ryan said Wednesday on ESPN Radio's nationally syndicated Tony Kornheiser Show that the Commodores had ''too many white guys'' to beat Western Michigan in today's first round of the NCAA men's basketball tournament. The show airs locally from 9 a.m.-noon on WNSR-AM 560. Kornheiser, a longtime Washington Post columnist, paused and seemed to try to help Ryan get past the remark. Ryan then reiterated, saying ''they have too many white guys, they always do.'' Vanderbilt's starting lineup for its first-round game today against Western Michigan in Orlando, Fla., includes three black players: guards Russell Lakey and Mario Moore and forward Corey Smith. Additionally, forward Julian Terrell, who also is black, has started 17 games this season. ''I'm disappointed someone would make a comment like that,'' Commodores coach Kevin Stallings said. Ryan explained his remarks last night to The Tennessean without backing off his original remarks. ''The audience at ESPN is presumably a sports-savvy audience which means that in terms of basketball they know the code, ethics and culture of basketball, which is, in case anyone is new to the game like some of these idiots that apparently have responded in a negative fashion, the code is it's a black man's game and the white man is privileged to be allowed to step on the court,'' Ryan said. ''That is known by both blacks and whites. If it weren't easy to joke about this in the culture, you would not be able to have a move entitled White Men Can't Jump. ''It's beyond my comprehension that anyone who likes basketball would be so dense and ignorant and just clueless not to understand where I was coming from.'' Yeah...he showed he knows his stuff. Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted June 26, 2006 what about when he said someone needs to slap jason kidd's wife? what a focking moron. He was probably right about that one Seriously, most of those columnists are spending too much time on ESPN and radio shows, without actually paying attention to what is going on. They think that they know everything and they end up being caught when they start talking about stuff that they know nothing about. I have always preferred guys who KNOW about a particular sport, dabble in some others, and KNOW to stay in the former and avoid the latter.
