Ray Rice is a BUST!

Recommended Posts

Moz, like others in this thread I respect your opinion and you know your stuff but did you watch this game?

McGahee looked good but Rice looked dominant.Absolute travesty that he allowed himself to be pushed out at the 1 so Leron could snipe a td but other than that he looked strong and very fast.

Couple things, will Rice get all the carries? no, he will be spelled by McGahee throughout the game and Leron will get a few quick hitters each game as well. I dont think anybody is expecting Rice to get more than 230-250 carries this year so a split is not that big a deal.Same deal on 3rd down, Rice will get "most" of the work there but McGahee has solid hands so we should expect him to steal some receptions throughout the year. I especially love Rice in dynasty leagues, good young Baltimore team with a talented O-Line and Rice is WAY more talented than most people think.

QFT.

BTW, re: 'Rice won't get any goal-line / redzone action'...

1-9-KC9 (3:25) R.Rice right guard to KC 4 for 5 yards (T.Tyler, D.Williams).

2-4-KC4 (2:50) (No Huddle) R.Rice right guard to KC 3 for 1 yard (T.Tyler).

Surely, McClain and McGahee are gonna do their share of vulturing, but Rice is gonna get his...

rice had 19 carries and over 100 yards. I will take that any week

yes ill take 100+ yards a week from any back!!! you give me 10+ points and im happy. But Rice does need to learn to get in the endzone when he is 1/2 yard short not running out of bounds, dive that sh!t in:angry:

 What's up with all the noobs posting and bumping inane threads these days...

Rice is on pace for another 100+ yds today. I wouldn't call that a bust given his ADP and where he was drafted.

McGahee is just looking to be a steal, more so than Rice being a bust.

Forte and Slaton are competing for BOY so far fwiw.

For the last month Rice was hyped an hyped so much that he began going as high as 3rd round in late drafts in PPR..

He got like 78 total yards and folks that hyped him try and justify it by actually touting that.

FACT - unless they are playing catch up - Ray Rice is either a 50/50 rbbc back or the LESSER 1/2 of a rbbc attack. McGahee is the main runner NOT rice.. Who did they give it to when it mattered yesterday - Mcgahee.

yes Rice is a BUST even for a 5th round pick. He is a glorified 3rd down back that will get some carries 20 - 20. It would not check me at all that by week 8 McClain is getting more rushes - it becomes a McGahee / McClain rushing committe with Rice on 3rd downs and 2 minute drill.

But by all means keep throating Rice's hog .. afterall many of you spent so much time hyping him up this off season.

i do not think Rice is a bust but i did however trade him last week :music_guitarred: the owner i traded him too was pissed this week because i got Steve Smith and Mcgahee got most carries.

From the painfully obvious department:

Now is the time to trade for Rice.

Forte/Slaton too, but owners are usually smart enough to realize those two are still going to get all the carries and wont trade them. With Rice, you have the McGahee boogie man that will frighten them into a bad trade.

Let's see, we could all argue that Ray Rice has underperformed, if anything, through the first 2 weeks? He's had 27 carries for 144 yards (5.33 average) - which puts him on pace for 1,152 for the season. He has 7 catches for 58 yards in 2 games, on pace for 56 catches and 484 yards.

Sure the TDs arent there, but no1 really expected him to score many TDs. Even IF McGahee stays healthy and productive all year (a big if at this point in his career), Rice will certainly score 4-6 TDs, MINIMUM. I still think there's a decent chance that he scores 7-9 TDs since that offense looks pretty explosive. If McGahee goes down, Rice could be in line for what most people hyped up MJD for. Even still, Rice is on pace for 1,152 rushing yards and almost 500 receiving yards with 56 catches. If he somehow scored even once so far this season, people would be all over him as a top10 back. TDs are hard to predict, but for a yardage/reception machine like Rice, luckily he wont need double digit scores to live up to his ADP.

My take being a Flaaco follower all last year, before anyone knew who he was....grew up near me, and I work with his best friend....yes I do.

Rice will start, and be the workhorse RB with most yardage.

Mcgahee will be worked in....he's healthy, and I've heard Flacco say he looks fantastic.....and he may be the exclusive goalliine RB.

Mcclain will be lined up FB, and will get a few carries at goalline and will punch a few in.

For the first time in Flacco's life, he wasn't breaking passing records. Harbaugh held him back. This year is going to be different. His passing yards and TDs will go way up. Look for Mason and Heap's TD to go way up, reducing rushing yards/TDs.

I sse Ray Rice averaging 50-70yards, with less than a TD every other game. What may drive those #'s up is if the Ravens start domnating teams, and Rice gets punded in the 2nd half.

Well said.

This thread is a prime example of the idiocy that has taken over the board...

Ray Rice is on pace for 1600 yds from scrimmage. A few TDs will come.

No one was expecting AP numbers from Rice.

And McGahee is not going to score 2 TDs every week. But he is arguably the steal of the draft thus far.

Bunch of noob rooks posting these days it seems... It's week 2 kids. Week 2.

10 teamer, he went in the 7th and the owner wouldn't shut up about Ray Rice at the draft. I argued he's not the goaline back, and it's RBBC in Baltimore.

He took him in front of Cedric Benson, Lendale White, Julius Jones, Reggie Bush, Darren Sproles, Felix Jones.....Ray at that spot was a bad pick. And this owner has Marian Barber and Westbrook as his starters.

In a 10 teamer, you're in deep sh!t if you're starting Ray Rice.

This whole post is dumb. First of all I would draft Rice right now over Ledale, Bush, JJ, Felix, and Sproles (unless I was MBIII or LT2 owner). So I'm not sure you point.

Secondly, your last statement is dumb too. Alot of people could have gone WR, WR, QB in their drafts. They could have Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, and Peyton Manning on their team. So starting a Ray Rice as your RB2 is completely acceptable on a damn good team.

In other words your post sucks.

If Ray Rice went in the 7th, what do you think he was doing with his other 6 picks ? He's his RB3, and I'd rather have Julius Jones(11th rank) or Cedric Benson (9th rank) to plug in this week with Westy/MB out.

He made a bad pick.

Like I said,

If he starts Ray Rice (22 rank), he's in deep sh!t. If I were him, I'd drop him for McGahee, (4th rank)

Per fantasyfootballcalculator, Rice was the 19th RB off the board.

He's currently the 20th ranked RB in my league.

I didn't know playing up to adp is a bust, I was under the impression that playing far BELOW your adp is considered a bust...

If you wanna talk real, true "bust" this early in the season, start talking Forte or Slaton.

This is perhaps the dumbest non-GiantsFan thread on this board.

He is currently the 17th best RB in my league. He was the 28th RB drafted.

I fail to see how he's a "Bust".

TDs are hard to predict. But his 202 all purpose yards is 9th in the league. I'll take that kind of steady production from an 8th round back - and when he hits paydirt, I'll call it a bonus.

He's 22nd in our league, (6pt TDs, 1pt/ 10 yards.)

When he hits pay dirt, he'll be on the bench.

The OP said BUST, I'm just saying chill on the hype. I'd be starting McGahee over him, if you have the choice, you should to.

I drafted McGahee ahead of Ray Rice (in the 10th round of a 12 teamer back in May). :nono:

McGahee is the backup and he's still outproducing Ray Rice. Wait until McGahee gets his starting gig back. :ninja:

And I can't wait to see 'DNP' next to McGahee's name.

Harbaugh is the closest thing to Shanny there is right now. Why is anyone trying to predict how this will shake out after only two weeks?

That was just wishful thinking. Regardless McGahee has been better than Rice.

Not wishful thinking....it happened last year.....and given the unpredictability of Harbaugh, it could happen again. Expect the unexpected with the Ravens.

McGahee has been better than Rice.....but that doesn't necessarily make Rice a bust now, does it?

No, I don't think Rice is a bust. I think he is way overhyped and drafted too high in most leagues.

God, a lot of people on this thread look like complete morons. Why aren't you posting, telling us how much of a better pick McGahee is and how Rice is a bust? He only dropped 42 points today in a PPR league.

All I know about Ray Rice is he took the two eggs that PT and KSmith laid in my lineup and made me a delicious fantasy feast.

Thanks Raymond. <_<

And more so thanks Haushka for making it a guilt free game

Wow!

Its one thing to be wrong but quite another to be wrong and come off like a major league azzdouche.

Moz, and some of his friends, should probably apologize to each other and themselves for posting some of the idiocy contained within this thread.
