Drizzay 648 Posted June 17, 2010 Well I just did it twice in the last 5 days. From Denver to Hometown X, MN. Visited the fam, went to a buddy's benefit (his dad had a stroke, his daughter has leukemia), watched the Twins in get manhandled by the Braves (twice) from some kick ass seats. All in all, a successful mini vacation. BTW, Iowa drivers are still horrible, Nebraska is one boring state, and semi drivers who pass each other (and cut me off in the process) can suck a fatty. kilroy69 1,011 Posted June 17, 2010 I did it straight through 17 hours. Jackson Mi to Jessup Ga......979 miles but still a loooonggg drive. Watched a car wreck in downtown ATL. The guy lost control came across 4 lanes of traffic without hitting anyone and BLASTED the median barrier. I mean ###### it up.
Me_2006 14 Posted June 17, 2010 Drove from Kentucky to Ft. Myers Florida, packed three cars full of my grandma's stuff, drove about an hour past Atlanta, slept, woke up, drove the rest of the way back home.
Drizzay 648 Posted June 17, 2010 Yea, this one takes 13 hours on the nuts. No matter how fast I drive, road construction and idiot drivers will make sure I can't shave off any time.
GettnHuge 1 Posted June 17, 2010 driven? no. but was in the passenger seat for almost 1000 miles from destin florida heading back up north. Left about 6am, arrived just before midnight. 3 adults, no kids, stopped for lunch n dinner, was still a nitemare! I was sore and sick for a couple days after that ordeal. said never again
BLS 313 Posted June 17, 2010 Drove from south of St. Paul to Biloxi, Mississippi straight through...3 times. Like 1400 miles. 23 hours. Sucks to do alone. One time with with my cousin, once with a buddy, once alone.
phillybear 365 Posted June 17, 2010 Since I take public transportation to work, I think I put less than 1,000 miles a year on my car.

shotsup 832 Posted June 17, 2010 Dallas to NY - about 1500 miles - straight through with a few friends who I considered "non drivers" - I made it on weed and coffee. Little more then 24 hours. When I got to NY met other friends had dinner then went out drinking. OUCH - I still feel that hangover. Another time flew to Daytona - met with a freind - had dinner then drove her car back to NY straight through. Went through a hurricane in GA and made it in a bout 16 hours by myself. 1000 or so miles - I think the hurricane helped my time. No one on the road and serious drafting with the 18 wheelers that were still truckin' !!!
jvirne 0 Posted June 17, 2010 I don't know how people can do this with just coffee and/or cigs. I drove from coast to coast twice by myself, and the most I could manage was 12 hours driving, maybe 14. After that I'd begin seeing things on the road. No joke. I was once 5 hours away from home and I had to stop and get a hotel room. I was pissed about it, but I'd been driving 13 hours and the lines on the road were blurring. I would've killed myself going any further.

edjr 5,596 Posted June 17, 2010 I drove from Boston to Miami and 3 months later I drove from Miami to Boston. Not quite sure if I did 1000 miles in a day, as we stopped once each time, but I hope I never do it again.
hdaddy 17 Posted June 17, 2010 Drove nonstop (excluding gas ups and pissy breaks) from West Palm Beach to Toledo two years ago. Doing the drive again next month but stopping overnight in ATL and I'll have a two year old along for the ride. A friend and I drove non-stop from Detroit to Tampa after they won the Stanley Cup back in '97. We pulled driver switches while on cruise control and used a funnel and long tubing to take piss breaks. Crazy $hit

Big_Pete 0 Posted June 17, 2010 I do the Denver to Los Angeles drive once or twice a year. Straight through with a couple stops at rest areas for 15 minute naps. I've done this multiple times as well. I use to drive from Denver to Laguna Beach once or twice a year, straight through, only to stop for gas and to get as much coffee and energy drinks as my body would allow before I had to pull over on the side of the road to throw up. I even did a Lawrence, KS to Laguna trip straight through once.... That was INSANE. I ended up on the way back to kansas stopping under a bridge for a 15 minute nap.... I was only about 45 minutes from home, but kept nodding off at the wheel. These last 3 years though, I've opted to fly instead of drive. It's cheaper cause of the rising gas prices, and I don't feel like absolute shit when I get back.
Drizzay 648 Posted June 18, 2010 I was at Saturday's game. You should have stopped by and said hi and bought me a Morgan Coke. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="dry.gif" /> Well, if Mike would have gotten around to making t-shirts... Plus, they only sell focking Pepsi products there. It's BS. I don't know how people can do this with just coffee and/or cigs. I'm surprised I did it with out cig's. (quit cold-turkey over a year ago). I went with a couple of 5-hour Energies. My stomach is still messed up today.
MTSkiBum 1,598 Posted June 18, 2010 First couple summers out of highschool I got a job driving a dump truck for 10 hours a day, including the commute I was driving 12 hours a day five days a week. I have never driven 1000 miles in a day, but i am sure that i would be able to.

pimptastic69 0 Posted June 20, 2010 The most I've ever done in one day is 864 mi., from Cincy to Pipestone, MN. Roughtly 14 hours. It wouldn't have so bad, except the wifey (36C) had to come with. Worst. Trip. Evah. The wifey just cramps your style. "I gotta pee." "I'm hungry." "I thought you said it would only be like 2 more hours." blah, blah, blah,........STFU
ens189 1 Posted June 20, 2010 Scranton, PA to Daytona Beach, FL twice solo and once with the wife (1300 miles each time, and each time under 16 hours), and Daytona Beach, FL to Houston, Tx in a 28 foot long moving truck with an 18 foot trailer carrying my wifes car in about 18 hours. Not sure the exact mileage but only being able to do 55 because of the trailer was torture. Then the next day I finished the trip out by going from Houston to El Paso in about 8 hours. I've spent way too many hours in a 2007 Pontiac G6.
BRANDON ROSS 0 Posted June 21, 2010 A buddy and I tag teamed a drive from Tulsa, Ok to St. Augstine, FL (1134 miles) straight in a U-Haul with not A/C. Took about 24 hours
jvirne 0 Posted June 22, 2010 I do the Denver to Los Angeles drive once or twice a year. Straight through with a couple stops at rest areas for 15 minute naps. That's a gorgeous ride, btw. First the Rockies, then the Utah mesas, then the red Arizona desert (briefly) then a few hours of crappy Nevada wasteland before you hit VEGAS, BABY! The worst part is the run from Vegas to LA. It's drab and full of LA douchebags talking on cellphones while doing 100mph. I remember reading that it's the most accident prone stretch of highway in the US, and am not the least bit surprised. jvirne 0 Posted June 22, 2010 I just remembered that I drove from college to Mardi Gras in 26 hours with one other driver. That's 1318 miles, so I drove at least 1000 in one day.
