shovelheadt 72 Posted March 7, 2012 Toy Story. We've all become accustomed to how good Pixar is now, but I remember just being blown away at the time at how good that movie was. WALL-E and Up were also very good, as were most of the rest I guess.
parrot 790 Posted March 7, 2012 WALL-E and Up were also very good, as were most of the rest I guess. Absolutely. Finding Nemo is awesome as well. I mentioned Toy Story because it was the first so I was shocked by how good it was, not just the animatation, but the storytelling. It was a real leap in animated movies. DonS 3,323 Posted March 8, 2012 Hell yea man. I love me some zoolander. "the derrick zoolander school for kids that don't read very good" Zoolander is one of those movies where I think your mood plays a big role in how much you enjoy it. My wife and I borrowed it from our neighbors shortly after it come out on DVD. Our neighbors said it sucked, but the wife and I were stressed out from work and just wanted to watch a movie we could get drunk to and not have to think. Loved it! "Obey my dog!" "There was a moment last night, when she was sandwiched between the two Finnish dwarves and the Maori tribesmen, where I thought, 'Wow, I could really spend the rest of my life with this woman'." "They're break-dance fighting." (The fact that Mrs. Ben Stiller / Marcia Brady is pretty damn hot doesn't hurt, either!)

kilroy69 1,270 Posted March 8, 2012 Up Close & Personal with Robert redford. Its a 100% chick flick. Another one where I was dragged into seeing something I didnt really think was going to be good. I remember thinking damn...that was not what I expected it to be. Also I just watched Jack and Jill with Adamn sandler. Looked like a focking horrific movie.....turns out its actually pretty funny. Al Pachino plays a reallllly weird part.
Super Cubs 155 Posted March 8, 2012 Casablanca is truely a timeless classic. I enjoy watching older movies and some of the classics don't seem to live up to the hype or my expectation. This one blew me away with how good it really was. Imo it lived up to the hype plus. I was really suprised how many one liners came from this movie.
IGotWorms 4,063 Posted March 8, 2012 Scott Pilgram vs the world. A very well-made and hilarious movie. So many people hated this movie and I could never understand why. I thought it was clever and entertaining.

Like pulp fiction or the usual suspects I came away from that thinking......well . I am going to have to pay to watch that again. I think I missed parts. ETA: Holy . 2012. Damn man If I could go back to that time and tell myself what I am going to turn into. It would blow my focking mind. At this point in my life I was just drifting. I had no goals. I had no aspirations in life other than focking women. I had a menial job with no prospects. I couch surfed locally and just was a bum for the most part. I was not a productive member of society and I did not treat my life seriously till I had a kid in 2 years. I went from having 2 parts of my life. Pre kid where I just floated as a bum to post kid where no one even looks at me as anything other than a great dad and a successful person. People who know me post being a father laugh hysterically at the idea of me not being what I am today. In 2 years from this post I got kicked into a gear I did not know I had. It would blow my mind to be able to explain that to the me that wrote this post.

In other words gents if your mrs. entrusts you some evening to pick the movies and she likes romantic comedies/drama believe me you could do a lot worse. Miss these guys.
