Who are you benching to start Matt Asiata?

Recommended Posts

I picked up Matt Asiata as soon as I heard the AP news because we have a deep roster. Our scoring system is TD-heavy, so I am starting Matt Asiata over Larry Fitzgerald at flex. I am curious whom other owners are benching for Asiata.

Foles

Lacy

Gore

Asiata

Marshall

Maclin

Gostowski

Houston

Stacy and Fitzgerald on the bench.

I'm sitting him. I just picked him up to block anyone else from getting him.

I'm in the same boat. Don't know what to start. I'm starting Lacy and need to decide between 1 of these guys. Ugh

R. Jennings

Ellington

Asiata

Ellington

Asiata

Out of those 3 it is not a difficult decision.

Debating between him and Fred Jackson, both over Keenan Allen. I'll probably go Asiata in the end. I'm starting Ellington, too, and consider him well ahead of both those guys.

Don't like Lacy's matchup vs. NYJ DEF. Think he will be too RZ TD dependent, and concerned about Kuhn being a vulture.

Not sure yet if I am starting Asiata, but I might bench Brandin Cooks to start Asiata. Still trying to decide.

League 1, may start over Ingram (haven't decided yet) .5 pt PPR.

League 2, starting over Ivory. Non PPR.

League 3, bench, I'm stacked. Offered a trade to the AP owner. PPR

League 4, IBL, bench (starting Charles and Murray). PPR.

I might start him over Doug Martin, Rashad Jennings and/or Zac Stacy...

Rashaad and Vjax may sit in flex for him? Not sure how I feel yet

starting this ham n' egger over some of the players I see in this thread is a complete LOLZ

Mckinnon will seize command by mid second quarter.

HTH.

Someone in my league beat me to him, but I managed to grab McKinnon. I was planning to sit Joique Bell vs Carolina this week, but since I now have AP on my bench I'm debating McKinnon or Bell. If I had Asiata I think it would be a no brainer. That NE defence looked horrible stopping the run last week. One of the Minni backs is likely going to have a huge day. The question is which one.

Then again, Patterson could just take all the running plays this week and really screw with our heads.

Is benching green vs Dallas a bad decision? It was either that it I don't get him...

Do some of you even understand the game?

You just don't throw a kid out there with 0 RB experience ever!

Wishful thinking on those that don't have Asiata

Take a look at snap counts last week.

14 for Asiata

3 for McKinnon

This is Asiata's job until injury or week 14-17 (depending on playoff picture).

In League 1, I realized that with Jeffrey being gimpy, I'm really between starting Asiata/Ingram at RB and Asiata/Ingram/Cooks/John Brown at flex. I think I'm going to roll with the RB in flex; basically I'll start both Ingram and Asiata.

Gerhart, Spiller, Bush

Guys Asiata ran a 4.81 forty at the combine.

I repeat 4.81 forty.

All the more impressive that he made the league.

Wiki has him at 4.77.

If RB was all about speed the guys running 4.2-4.35 wouldn't mostly play CB or WR.

What's a 40 time gotta do with a 2nd and goal on the 2 yd line.

It means that he won't reach the second level. It means he won't reach the corner. It means he won't juke or elude defenders.

40 time doesn't really correlate to juke moves or elusiveness...besides he's a power back.

man I hope he explodes for something like 24 carries for 125 yards and 2 tds with 4 catches for 25 yards. I would love to flip him on tuesday.

In one league I'm starting Patterson over Asiata in the flex (PPR). I think Patterson gets a ton of looks tomorrow.

We have two games to judge him on. Both great fantasy numbers no matter his 40 tome

People aren't getting that a guy like Patterson doesn't benefit from a 'ton of looks". His value comes from deception and misdirection to hit that home run. With AP out there is much less deception and much more attention/respect given to Patterson I think. If they just gave him the ball every play he'd average 2 yards per touch. Toby Gerhart gets a ton of looks. So does Doug Martin. Patterson's yards per touch will go down and his uptick of touches won't be enough to compensate for it.
