++ UPDATE: 4-Game Suspension Upheld - 11 of 12 footballs NE used were deflated 2psi!

Recommended Posts

If it's so obvious, then please tell us all exactly what happened that day.

I understand some people need pictures and cannot draw conclusions for themselves so here goes.

1. Each team brings 12 footballs to the stadium.

2. The NFL inspects these footballs and decide whether or not they meet specified standards. They did in this case.

3. There is video of a guy taking the Patriots footballs to another room after the aforementioned inspection. He then takes the footballs to the field.

4. An Indy player makes an interception, gives the ball to his equipment manager to mark as his interception ball. The manager then notices something amiss with the football. He notifies the coach who notifies the NFL officials.

5. At half time the balls are reinspected and it is found that 11 or 12 of the Patriot footballs were deflated significantly. It should be noted that NONE of the 12 balls that the Colts brought were found to be out of tolerance. NONE.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/deflate-gate-triggers-stat-spat-as-analysts-attempt-to-solve-why-patriots-don-t-fumble-003107565-nfl.html

I've posted this link prior that leads one to believe the advantage gained (and proven) is that with a slightly deflated ball, the amount of fumbles a team has plummets.

Tomorrow we'll work on shapes and colors.

Now now guys. Let's calm down. People will defend their team and others will try to tear them down. At the end of the day it's the verdict if they cheated or not that will determine it.

all 5 of his statements are established...the only one in question is the amount of inspection that occurred on the balls.

It's not a lie if you believe it.

You said it was obviously cheating, yet you still haven't said when or how the balls became deflated if in fact the balls truly passed initial inspection. I'm asking for specifics, not general statements. If you don't know, you don't know.

2) What was the pressure of all 24 balls? Did the refs do a feel test or actually measure every ball? Was there video of the test?

3) What happened inside the room? Are you making an assumption that the ball boy deflated the balls while in the room?

5) What were the measurements of all 24 balls? Your second statement is irrelevant if you can't tell us the specific measurements of each ball at the initial inspection. A ball could pass initial inspection at 12.5 psi and another ball could pass at 13.5 psi. Both balls could lose one pound of pressure, yet one would still be within spec and the other wouldn't.

It's a fun debate, but you still haven't proven anything.

Go Chiefs!

I guess all the media outside of New England has it all wrong, right? It's clear to any reasonable person what the conclusion of the reports that have come out are.

You sound like a juror from the initial O.J. Simpson trial. :dunno:

Maybe that's your problem. You keep listening to the media, and not the actual facts. You wouldn't even make it past jury selection with your logic.

Who are you listening to? Belicheat?

He's listening to facts. Take everything out of the equation except the facts. No teams, no coaches, no history. There's not hardly anywhere enough to say they were cheating. All we have is they were slightly under inflated at half time and the locker room attendant taking both sets of footballs to the bathroom for 90 seconds before heading to the field. That's all we have to go on. We aren't 100% sure (even though there is already an article where the refs didn't do a proper inspection but I'll wait for the nfl to say that) that a proper inspection was done. So we don't know the starting psi of the balls to determine if they passed already too low or if they were tampered with.

You are just cherry picking the media reports that are trying to dispute the facts we know.

Really? Did you not read? Where have I cherry picked information? The only bit I could think of would be when I said there was a report saying the refs didn't do the psi inspection but I also said I'll wait for the nfl to come out and say that so I can take it as 100% fact. Other than there, there's nothing else

No. I would like to have all of the facts first before I accuse the refs, the ball boy, Tom Brady, Bill Belicheck, Obama or you.

Through what? Terribly sourced articles offering the author's editorial spin on something an anonymous source supposedly told him?

Jesus don't any of you know anything about journalism? Actually you could be forgiven if you don't since apparently journalism is dead :(

So...the pats aren't being investigated?

The only thing in dispute of his statements us how the refs inspected the balls. You thinking otherwise is proving me right in saying you are in denial.

Brady doesn't have an impeccable reputation ?

I call bull ######

I think he does.

I guess you've dropped your sermons preaching the evils of generalizing these days?

I'm one of those couple. And yes, if the refs didn't check the balls, that's on them. And if turns out that that is the case, but people still want to accuse the Patriots of cheating by offering non-spec balls to the officials, then yes, they damn well better impugn Rodgers and the Packers for the same "cheating". If they don't, then they are hypocrites. What's good for the GOAT, is good for the Packer.

My argument on any nefarious activities on the part of NE or any NE staff member really doesn't cover massaging balls any way they like prior to inspection. These reports aired by asserting that the balls were altered after they were put in play by refs. No where have I said anything that attempts to skewer NE for doing anything to any ball prior to inspection; I find that sort of activity acceptable.

This is exactly my understanding of the information we have on this subject to date. Anything that contradicts this understanding seems to be being pushed by NE in an attempt to muddy the clear waters which pointed to a conclusion one would draw upon the evidence.

Filthy referenced OJ jurors; I agree. It seems to me that the pro-NE "you haven't proven anything!" crowd sound just like OJ jurors.

How is Rodgers relevant to the latest Cheatriot scandal? I mean, beyond mouth breathing Cheatriot fans using it as a lame attempt to deflect from their crooked organizations transgressions?

Essentially Pats fans are hanging their hat on a story by 2 Boston shock jocks who claim PSI Was not checked with a gauge prior to game. If that is not the case there is no possible way the Pats fans can make a case with a straight face why their 11 balls were flat while all Colts were good

My money is on the gauge being used or this in estivation would be over by now

You would think equipment would be another thing they checked in the investigation right? Don't know if they have. Just know they are consulting a physicist over the issue now. It's gotten out of hand
