fool

Yes...you are easily fooled by reading what you already wanted to hear and buying into it.

Other words are lemming and sheep. You do this often and its nice to know it extends beyond politics and into your complete blind fandom of your NFL team.

On a side note, I hate Bleacher Report. Every article is a clickbait slide show. Not to mention it's 90% opinion pieces.

defense of the indefensible

I'm just glad people are keeping things in perspective here. But yeah, there's no chance that that Mort and King could be less than 100% correct. We know that's never happened before.

Ray Lewis questions the Patriots integrity? :bandana: This is coming from a guy who disposed of his suit he was wearing when 2 guys got murdered by people in his entourage. He had a white suit that was suspected of being covered with the victims blood. That suit was never found.

For every person you can find that will back up the Patriots explanation you can find someone that will dispute it. Bottom line is there is nothing to this which is going to disappoint alot of people.

Im not calling it cheating or thinking it mattered in the game.

But how hard is it to say...yeah, something probably happened?

Rather than continuing to play the innocent card that several of the loudest of Pats fans have?

The NFL investigating something doesnt mean much. Me and you could investigate better then they have done in past.

If they did not doing anything then why would you say so? Again in my opinion their responses say they did not do anything.

Yes i am a Patriots fan but that does not change the fact that no one knows a damn thing and most of the reports that have come out have been wrong or miss quoted. The biggest one so far is the report that 11 of the balls were 2 lbs under which made it hard for people to think it happened naturally and i agreed when first heard that too. Now its reported that is not the case and i bet it changes alot of peoples mind

No one will probably ever know if anything did or did not happen.

I'll concede that the Patriots balls were somewhere below the prescribed pressure. Beyond that there's just too much incomplete and conflicting information for me to form much of an opinion. Without more info I don't find it any more plausible to think the Pats tampered with the balls than to think mother nature tampered with the balls.

Do you think mother nature decided to leave Indy balls alone?

There is really no way to get around the fact that Dougie :pointstosky: Spoons focked with the balls.

Sounds to me like Indi inflated their balls between the refs checking them and half time.

No biggie, pats crushed them anyway.

Riiiggghhht.

It is more plausible that the ball inflation fairy flew out over the field, waved her magic wand, and inflated the Colt's balls while simultaneously deflating the Pat's balls.

No, I would expect Indy's FOOTballs to react pretty similar to New England's. We already know how their other balls shrunk up, but that's neither here nor there.

We don't know what PSI either team's balls actually started at. We also don't what they eventually ended at. If Florio's report is correct, and the actual loss was more like 1 pound than 2, if the Patriots started at the 12.5 minimum, then they would be a pound below, and if the Colts started at the 13.5 max, they would still be at the minimum.

Thats the point...you, and other Pats fans...have just taken the denial by the team as if it means they are innocent.

Some of you can't even grasp the possibility of wrongdoing enough to admit its possible.

Actually pretty much everyone has said if they were guilty then they see nothing wrong with the patriots being punished. It's everyone else who has been saying they are cheating no matter what without the investigation finished. The whole "innocent until proven guilty" doesn't seem to apply cause everyone else is already thinking it's done and they should be punished. Just wait til the investigation is over and if found guilty call them cheaters all you want. Doubt you'll hear much complaining from pats fans about it.

Sport Science: Deflategate (HD):

I've been open to scientific analysis but the speed analysis in this video is crap. First, they presume the QB throws both balls with the same speed. By that argument, a QB would throw a lead football super fast #@$! In other words, the QB would theoretically throw the lighter football slightly harder.

Second, the lighter football would have a slightly smaller volume which means less air drag which means faster.

Science phayle :(

Interesting piece on statistical analysis of fumble rates over the last 5 years. Naturally, Pats fans will immediately become statistics experts and find fault with it. http://www.sharpfootballanalysis.com/blog/2015/the-new-england-patriots-prevention-of-fumbles-is-nearly-impossible

As opposed to others who will just accept it as gospel because it disparages the Pats?

link to me labeling them guilty?

or just saying the logical conclusion based on what is known is that they tampered with balls after inspection.

Umm...huh?

Innocent til proven guilty is a concept of a legal system...has nothing to do with people discussing this.

And there is no, innocent til prven guilty...you leave off a word there (like most do) anyway.

and i guarantee you will hear more from pats fans...some still think nothing happened with spygate despite the punishment from the nfl.

True, that will probably be around 50% of the non-Pats fans. The other 50% will actually read the article and form their own opinion of the results. The article doesn't explicitly state that the Pats cheat, just that their fumble rate is incredibly low. There are reasons that don't involve cheating that could explain this.

Isn't it ironic that this very board is fully of fantasy football owners who cry that Belichick is way too quick to bench Ridley any time he fumbles, yet somehow we are asked to assume that the Patriots' low fumbling rate is due to cheating?

I am taking their word on it yes because both Belichick and Brady have come out and said they absolutely did not do anything. Belichick never did that in the Spygate fiasco. Like i have said multiple times i thought Brady had it done until both him and BB addressed the media.

That type of player management is certainly one of the legit reasons that their fumble rate is so low.

Lol ok bud. So they are guilty regardless right? Freaking moron can't even have a sensible discussion without getting upset and yelling "cheater, cheater pumpkin eater" like a give year old. That's the only thing that pisses me off is ignorant people who will sit there and call someone a cheater even if the investigation is still on going.

Who is getting upset...and where have I said "cheater"?

There are very few saying it like that.

Most have said they believe NE did something based on what is known at this point. A pretty logical conclusion right now.

Most have said they believe NE did something based on what is known at this point. A pretty logical conclusion right now.

The only thing known right now is the balls were slightly under pressure at half time. Not one thing has been said about a proper inspection at the begining of the game or about someone finding evidence that the balls were tampered with after they were inspected at the begining of the game. Like aaron Rodgers said he has extra pressure put in his footballs to see if they will pass inspection. I'll bet sometimes the refs don't check the psi and they do pass. Which would make that an illegal ball am I correct? So now let's flip it. It is quite possible the patriots balls were either inflated to the bare minimum psi and possibly lost a little bit during the game or were not up to the bare minimum psi before the game and the refs overlooked it. All possible scenarios. It would be quite difficult for someone to take 11 of 12 balls and deflate them during the game in front of thousands of people and camera crews. Not saying impossible. But very difficult. So with all that being said we have no clue yet as to what has happened. If they didn't tamper with them after the inspection then shouldn't blame for them fall back on the refs? No one seems to be seeing it as that. If they did tamper with the footballs then yes shame on them. But no one knows for sure what has happened and there has been a tough time getting evidence that suggests someone tampered with them after the inspection.

There is no such thing as "INNOCENT TIL PROVEN GUILTY" :nono:

Your guilty when accused and maybe you will become wrongly accused.
