Didn't log, but marked them as legal and said they were "properly tested".

http://nesn.com/2015/01/dean-blandino-deflategate-wasnt-a-sting-psi-in-footballs-werent-logged/

They dont log them...so im sure pats fan will cling to hope they did no wrong.

The problem with it not being logged is:

1. We're left at just taking their word that they really checked (like actually guaged the pressure, not just feeling them and saying "good enough")

2. But more importantly, there is no basis of comparison. Did these balls drop .5psi or 2.5psi? Seems we'll never know. Ditto on the Colts' balls

So now there is confirmation that a gauge was used to measure PSI but the measurement wasn't logged. For those who are dumb that means they didn't write a value down somewhere which I dont think is a requirement.

Soooooo pats fans you lose the debate. They were measured acceptable by the refs. Which means a min of 12.5. Unless you believe in selective physics that excluded 12 Colts balls there was some ball tampering

clinging to what, you're gonna stake the legacy of a franchise on a part time employees word, a guy who stands a good chance of being be fired for focking up ?

That's mighty white of you, I'll say it will take a lot more than that.

Kraft won't stand for that nonsense.

You guys are just clinging to imaginary hope. They do not log PSI this isn't some fake excuse. Now you are actually telling us the NFL is making it all up. The balls were underinflAted at halftime and were good before the game. Your only defense now is the NFL is lying and didn't use a gauge.

Whats next? Prove they had their eyes open when they read the gauge? Prove the NFL didn't deflate them on purpose to make their favorite owner look bad?

I'll take the word of greats like Brady bellichik and kraft, you take the word of Ricky ref.

:)

Great defense. But sadly it's all your left with. A conspiracy that the NFL is just flat out making Shiit up for some reason against one of their favorite owners. BTW what's the motive for the nfl? Lol

I could see the nfl trying something like this to get the medias attention. They have gotten so much press and advertisement for this it's ridiculous. They viewership during the Super Bowl will be even greater.

But I don't believe that honestly. Just throwing it out there

They don't want this type of media attention. Trying to play up that a team cheated to assist their way to the Super Bowl. Same one that got caught in past. Nah not their script. This is awful for them and last thing besides Ray. Rice and ADP that they want discussed now.

You had some great posts in this thread before you took offense to some of the vitriol being thrown around.

The above post runs counter to everything that I can see the NFL wanting to do. They've gone on an advertising blitz to show how they care about preventing concussions (they don't), and they have worked hard to distance/better themselves with regard to domestic abuse and 'criminal elements' in the player ranks. The last thing they want is another controversy - especially one involving previously proven cheating Patriots skirting rules again.

What's weird to me is that Goodell would set up a sting operation in the first place. Obviously Goody has it in for Bill. And Bob is in a bad place.

Some thoughts to get this back on track:

- I don't believe that Goodell wanted this to happen. Some may claim others in his office have it out for the Pats, but that seems too "cloak and dagger" for me.

- This story came to light because of the Ravens and Colts. Both have distanced themselves from it as best that they could, but that is where it is coming from. The Colts leaked the story of the investigation as well and the NFL has no choice but to investigate. I find it odd that the Ravens (Harbaugh) would go to his buddy, Pagano, rather than the league with his complaint.

- Blandino said that there was no sting in this and I believe him. If so, there would have been a log of the PSI for each ball. The NFL doesn't do things that way and I don't think that they are starting now

- I have no idea if the balls were correct to start the game. The refs said that they checked them and you would think that Anderson, being the stickler that he is, would go by the letter of the checklist. Unfortunately, I don't think that there is a checklist. I also think that, based on how it is typically done, the lowest ranking guy checks the balls. With an "all star" crew, I have no idea who that is, but I would bet it is someone that Coleman is not familiar with. That could be part of why this part of the story is murky.

- Big game coming up on Sunday.

This opinion piece sums it up completely http://tanyarayfox.weebly

.com/blog/how-the-nfl-made-a-fool-of-you-with-deflategate

If you are a football fan that feels as though the Patriots have hurt the integrity of your precious sport with the PSI of a game ball, or a member of the media who took to your laptops and the airwaves to editorialize your distrust of Bill Belichick and Tom Brady and Bob Kraft, then you should be mad right now; because the NFL played you like a fiddle.

They made a mockery of you. They dangled the bait in front of you and you snapped it up so quickly and with so much vigor that they havent even had to come out and speak to you and answer your questions; because you havent even asked them to.

And they knew that you wouldnt.

They dared you to inundate an entire team of athletes and personnel with accusations based on your lingering distrust of Bill Belichick post-SpyGate; distrust that constantly leaves you calling for his resignation and/or the confiscation of his Super Bowl rings despite the fact that you have failed to exhibit the same vitriol for the also-highly-decorated Jimmy Johnson who admitted to doing the same exact thing.

You went on the radio and the internet and TV and indicted the Patriots based on nothing other than a couple of flimsy reports and an announcement of an investigation. You did that knowing that despite it being enough of a story that Belichick and Brady were at the podium talking to you about it, the NFL had inexplicably failed to even have a conversation with Brady yet. You did that knowing that this is the same exact league and Commissioner whose credibility youd spent most of the season dismantling.

You wanted and needed so badly to believe that the Patriots couldnt possibly be the dynasty that has reigned supreme over the last fourteen years that you gave the NFL the benefit of the doubt.

The league that tried to cover up their knowledge of a video of Ray Rice knocking his fiancé unconscious with a punch to the face, then had their Commissioner stand up in front of you and dare you to try to make him pay any consequences for it.

The league that, in the interest of financial gain, ignored and covered up the brutal health implications of playing for them until a beloved Hall of Fame linebacker killed himself and donated his brain to science in the hopes that it may save the lives of other players.

Why has it not also been shoved down your throats that theyre investigating the Browns for illegal use of electronic devices for sideline communication, or that the Chargers were fined in 2012 for cheating through illegal use of towels with a hidden substance? Where was the viral outrage when the Cowboys and Redskins were fined millions in cap dollars after being found guilty of purposely dumping salaries into the uncapped year in 2010?

Wait, you will love this one. Why didnt the NFL deem it necessary to make quarterbacks and coaches speak to their accountability and respect for the integrity of the game when just TWO MONTHS AGO they caught the Vikings heating game balls on the sideline in a 12-degree game against the Panthers after they supposedly reminded both teams that it was illegal to do so? (Full credit and big thanks to Pats Krieg for compiling these.)

The NFLs brilliant leaking of a possible Patriots scandal was enough to incite such a frenzy that you immediately repudiated the trustworthiness of Brady; one of the NFLs pillars of sportsmanship and someone who has never previously been accused of being a cheater (or drug-user or rapist or animal endangerer or criminal of any kind). Not only did you question him but you attacked him. With nearly no provocation and armed with only a vague statement from an NFL spokesperson and unofficial reports from other sources, you labeled Brady a liar and a cheater.

After he told you that he didnt do anything wrong and stood and answered your questions for 35 minutes, you came on television and arrogantly rattled on about disappointment in him; disappointment based on the inflation level of game balls that almost every single current and former player agrees is a non-issue. That consensus is further backed up by the lack of outrage when the aforementioned ball-tampering in Minnesota popped up in November of 2014.

Aaron Rodgers admitted that he hopes his purposely over-inflated balls sneak by the referees inspection, and you dismissed that as not cheating. Because you know that the pressure of the balls does not win you NFL games. You arent mad about deflation or inflation; you just want to hate the Patriots.

The problem is that if you do think that the Patriots benefit from ball pressure, then Rodgers just told you that he does too. Youre not going to start a war against Rodgers, so you make it about principle. Its the principle of the matter.

Okay. Thats what they were figuring you would do.

So now we are nine days into this thing while fast approaching the Super Bowl, and the NFL has not even had to come out and actually call the Patriots cheaters. Nor have they addressed the issue directly to the media or the public. A spokesperson confirmed that there was an investigation. Then five days ago the NFL released a statement that took three paragraphs to say exactly what the spokesperson had confirmed: that they are investigating. The only notable addition was to note that the Patriots are cooperating fully with said investigation as well as a particularly preposterous paragraph in which they explain the reconnaissance mission in terms more suited for the script of an episode of CSI.

The fact that you so willingly fell into this trap is a testament to just how much power the NFL has over you. They handed you the narrative that they knew you wanted. They figured they could solve the indignity that the league had suffered at the hands of the mighty cheating Patriots by throwing the book at the "bad guys. Theyd even do it to Bob Kraft to show you how they dont play favorites.

What better way to help solve an image issue than align yourself with the masses against a common enemy? Bravo to Goodell. He "cracked down" on cheating without further angering any of the NFL owners that already don't like him.

You bought it hook, line and sinker because you're under the delusion that your team is all clear eyes-full hearts and has somehow been victimized by this. It is one thing to buy into a perfectly timed PR stunt. Its another thing entirely to fall into the ignorant space between conspiracy and reality that enables you to continuously denounce the NFL and its most successful franchise as cheaters and liars, yet still voraciously consume their product that they've pitted you against.

The only way that this league will change for the better is if you stop letting the NFL take you for such fools.

Was just thinking somebody was gonna reference the OJ case to this. Smh completely unrelated subjects with completely unrelated subject matter.

The reference to the OJ case for those who can't make simple connections is that even when someone is obviously guilty, there are some people in society incapable of defining 'reasonable' as in 'reasonable doubt'. OJ was obviously guilty yet the defense was able to muddy the waters to call into question the whole process.

That's essentially what has happened with the footballs. Now they're saying the NFL didn't log the results so the Patriots and their fans can move on to this talking point. You guys were poo pooing any thought of this by saying there's no evidence of the footballs being checked. Well, now the NFL has stated they did check the footballs but didn't log the information as apparently they didn't know they'd have a team deflate them and get caught, thereby requiring a log to show what the original values were.

Just like O.J..............guilty as sin but will get off on technicalities.

You Patriots fans must be proud.

http://profootballta...riots-football/

Don't forget to turn off the lights on your way out.

Okay...........so the NFL didn't think they needed to keep a log of the initial values. Shocking that they'd trust teams to play by the rules, huh? Very shocking............

Did they log the values when they checked them at half time ?

If so what are they comparing them too ?

They got nothing, they never did, it was a botched attempt by sore losers to sabotage the incredible accomplishments of the team.

FAIL!

It's a shame that now the NFL will have to go through each and every game now, logging all this stuff just because one coach and his QB think they're above the rules of the game.

"They got nothing" yeah...........just like O.J.

I'm just glad a thread finally topped the McKinnon one in replies

I was surprised at how the McKinnon got so big. This one I could see cause it's little evidence of cheating so some people will take one side saying they cheated while others will defend them. The McKinnon thread was just funny to read

Just the tip of the iceberg.

This was the first time they got caught; not the first time they did it.

Who knows what else they're doing.

Yes......let it go please so the Patriots legacy won't be tarnished further. Even though the investigation is still underway, there's credible proof that someone altered the footballs for only the Patriots and the team has a history of cheating, it's time to cover our ears and all chant 'La-la-la I'm not listening......'

It's the people like yourself and the ardent Patriot fans whose well being you should concern yourself with; i.e. living in denial. The first step in treatment man is acknowledging it.

Go ahead..........just say it. The Pats are cheaters. You'll feel better.
