Carroll completely over thought the situation and his BS excuse that he needed to pass to keep his options open on 3rd down were absurd. Lynch got tackled at the 1 with over a minute left and Carroll put the cart before the horse by deciding he COULD run the clock down and score, leaving Pats with no time to score again. That's a great thought when you only need a FG to win, but not as smart when you need a TD. He got cute with the clock and personal formations and when it got time to run a play, he had boxed himself into a corner, that was 100% on him.

You make a good point about the fake field goal, I forgot about that. I remember watching that game early on and thinking McCarthy needs to be more aggressive. But the fake field goal was terrible. The Packers should have been happy they were kicking it and let it happen.
