Darren McFadden or Joseph Randle

Recommended Posts

Its going to be Randle. Even if the Boys try DMC hes going to get a hang nail and be out 3 weeks. I am wondering if i should trade adams for randle.

I wouldn't do that... Joseph Randle is a plumber. Adams may end up being the full time split end in an offense quarterbacked by Aaron Rodgers.

Yeah youre prob right. I am just looking at the 2 weeks without Bell hoping i can get by with Gore, Woodhead, Hillman, Zenner, David Johnson. Its non ppr so Woodhead is a little scary.

I'd go 3 wide at WR and snap up Steve Smith Sr if he's on your WW. Dude is going to be lights out until he gets banged up about week 6-7. Or have you considered DeAngelo as a stopgap?

I took DeAngelo as well. I haven't heard anything noting he won't be the fill-in.

Going to be interesting with the Lions rb position now that J Bell has been removed from the pup list .

I am planning on going 3 wide. I am covered in that area with OBJ, Cooks, Maclin, Adams. Also have Graham so i am hoping i have an advantage at TE for the first two weeks to offset the lack of RB power.

I know folks are bullish on how the Aints spread the ball around but I think Cooks is going to really be something in that offense.

I agree. I couldnt have been happier to get him in the 4th, right before he had his big week 2 game.

Saw on Rotoworld that the Boys passed on Fred Jackson but may have eyes on another runner. Wondering where that may have leaked from I've heard nothing on the airwaves here.

By the way also saw where Denver may cut Monte Ball, who has good size and ran a 4.46 at his pro day for scouts. Also if FJax goes to Seattle that puts Christine Michael in danger of getting cut.

I haven't seen anything saying they have eyes on another runner. At this point it's randle ...dmc is a paper cut away from the pup list

If they're smart they'll use both of them. They'll both have decent rb2 value in that case.

I'd rather have DMC at his ADP than Randle at his. Jerry loves his Arkansas boys and never misses a chance to talk DMC up. I think Jerry wants DMC to be the lead back, despite all the talk about RBBC.

Actually for a big kid like Ball 4.46 is pretty good. His combine time of 4.6 is more in line with Randle, but Ball claimed he had a sinus infection that day which is why he re-ran at the Wisconsin Pro Day.

Yeah it was a blurb in USA Today, not Rotoworld. Their sports writers are clowns so probably take with grain of salt. A back like Ball probably would not fall to the Boys in waivers anyhow.

Iv always maintained that 40 speed and football speed are totally different things. I like ot see how a guy runs in full pads on the field between the tackles. I could give a fock how he looks in basketball shorts with a stopwatch.

I'll try the flip side, try trading for Randle, some people are panicking. That's a great line which produced an 1800 yard runner last year. Randle had 2 great seasons at OSU and DMC has been falling down at least 3-4 years now. I don't think you'll go broke betting against McFadden.

Jerry loves his Arkansas boys...

one of the most ridiculous of all the ridiculous cowboys tropes.

jerry has owned the team for 26 years now, running well over a thousand players through the program. how many were from arkansas?

5

only 2 of those were drafted.

this. for example, williams' best 40 ever was a 4.52, which is nothing to write home about. but somehow the guy can run by CBs who clock faster times.

IMO, it has to do with how a guy carries his weight and accommodates pads.

Agreed - cue Emmitt Smith... Emmitt ran a 4.55 in his pro day at Florida - not fast by any means. Yet - Emmitt had 6 rushing tds of 50 yards or more. Same amount as the likes of L. Tomlinson, T. Dorsett and Tiki Barber.

4.55 back then was fast. Especially for a big back. Back then that was blazing speed.

Actually - the 4.55 time he ran was in dispute. Reports are it was closer to a 4.7.. Consequently it was the main reason he started to slide in the draft - was a huge knock on him. Even at a 4.55 teams were shying away from him bcoz of it... Everyone except the Cowboys scout Walt Yaworsky - that story is legendary here.

Emmitt today would be better than the steaming piles of sh!t they are going to hand the ball off to this year. Romo is going to have to carry the load

What would truly be funny (or cruel, interesting, mind boggling, etc) would be if a FA like FJAX or Ray Rice came in and ended up being the guy. :ninja:

totally possible. but we would need to see an injury first.

I suspect Rice will sign somewhere by week 5 and play by week 7.

Saw a report that the Cowboys are expected to be very active after final cuts are made in regards to the RB position. Could they be looking into bringing in a Montee Ball, Christine Michael/Rober Turbin type? It's starting to look like Dallas is going to attack teams with a RBBC and try to keep the rotation healthy and fresh for the season. Unless someone takes the job and runs away with it or injuries force someone to be the bell cow, it will be a very frustrating week to week situation.

I honestly believe this is all being driven by Randle's continual inability to grasp pass blocking. Most here are scared to death he's going to get Romo killed.. It's almost as if his running ability has taken a back seat... I would not be shocked to see somebody brought in.

Thanks for confirming this. Murray's workload last season had less to do with Dallas wanting to churn him into the ground and more to do with their lack of trust in Randle to protect Romo. Especially in the later stages of games. Life without Romo is life in the desert for this team and its fans.

Man it would be hard for them to bring in a new back right now though, they'd have to cram an entire off season of learning into a few weeks. But if they can hang in there for a few games with a new RB who's picking up the playbook, maybe get some of their guys back on defense, this team would be dangerous. There's going to be some quality on the WW, problem is Dallas is too far down the list. Maybe give up a conditional 7th rounder? Monte Ball in a Cowboy uniform?

It's been a frequent talk of discussion on all the talk shows and from the beat writers.... Just yesterday Mike Fisher was talking about how poor Randle's technique is. Then when it's somewhat good and he doesn't just sit or lunge - the defender just flat out runs over his ass.... Technique can be fixed - I'm worried that he's such a knucklehead that he will simply not see where it's coming from... Part of the solution being kicked around is to simply have Randle release out to the flat if/when the blitz is coming. Have Romo dump it as soon as possible and hopefully survive the attack.

Lol... if anyone can handle that it's Romo.

McFadden will get the bulk of the plays and will flourish is my belief.

He's out for the year week 2.

That good pre season run he had even looks like everything is going to snap any second. He runs whacky.

I agree. some guys run 4.4 with no pads, but 4.6 with pads.

others run 4.5 with no pads and the same speed with pads.

its the speed with pads (and probably a football) that counts.
