NE will play defense differently without Revis - the D-line and LBs will put more pressure on QBs and the young secondary won't be asked to do as much as they had to with Revis there. As for your second question, I don't think it was the NFLs intention to do that from the beginning. I think once the whole thing started it was a great way for Goodell to look good in front of everyone if he came down hard on a cheater. Yet when they couldn't find anything they manipulated the media into it looking like the patriots did cheat. Those balls were affected by the Ideal Gas Law too. Unfortunately, the NFL knuckleheads doing the readings did not understand that having the balls in the locker-room brought their temperature up, which increased the PSI. If they had just alternated balls when they took the readings, then we might not be in this situation.
