Dion Lewis

Recommended Posts

The Pats are apparently high on this guy. Do you guys think he will fill the Shane Vereen role? Any thoughts? Might be a good ppr pickup?

Could be on to something. Gray gets cut while Lewis gets the starter treatment sitting out the final preseason game

Damn I traded Jonas Gray in a Dynasty league to a guy for McFadden. Opps lol. I think Gray resurfaces elsewhere on someones practice squad.

I like his talent.

Anyhow I just picked up Lewis in my Dynasty league. Lewis showed speed and some power too. I think he has allot to offer. and could be a sleeper RB #3 with #2 upside.

Is he worth a shot in a standard league? I usually stay away from all Pats RB's but I'm in a 14 team league and am desperate for a Week 1 plug and play RB with Bell out and Tre Mason likely out as well (plus very few options on WW).

I think Bolden is the play here if the Pats roll with who they have.

Bolden is a special teams guy. They mix him in here and there but I'd be surprised if he became their primary third down back.

Got this from somewhere else

He could make an impact. He has rare, elite balance/ankle breaking skill and adequate power/speed and good hands/catch. Very compact. Deceptive power, adequate for nickel/dime sets where he will be facing mostly. Also Pats tied him up in 2014 after the injury thinking they would tie him up for 2015. Didn't play in final pre-season game. He's in the plan.

Gushinghistory/story/narrative while watching his 40+ carry game. Pretty much every play went to him.

A few highlights as a freshman.

recent film:

2TDs in pre-season,

one split out wide receiving ...

https://www.youtube....h?v=II9j1nAtBV8

one impressive power run inside for TD.

Nice one handed catch and run and juke:

and a last one showing off his shiftiness is not gone after injury.

https://www.youtube....h?v=MXfR_fSoOZk

There is zero buzz on this guy, even his recent vids have only a handful of views. Definitely a last/late round pickup that has a great chance to pay off. I think he has a chance to take the vacated Vereen role to a new level if he can stay healthy.

P.S. Jonas Gray was waived to make more RB room so Lewis most likely made the team.

You basically described shane vereen who was never consistent with the team.

This is a good point. Dion Lewis' ceiling is probably being as good as Vereen was last year. Which is basically a handful of decent games but good luck guessing which weeks they come in.

I'm staying away from the Pats and Cowboys and Titans RB's. All of them. I'll let somebody else worry about it.

I like a few small pieces from each team...well not the Titans. I like the receiving back from the Pats and I like the 1st & 2nd down back for the Boys.

I think they will both be flex worthy at minimum and outperform multiple weeks.

pretty much this

of course, one can't roster every hot spec/potential boom player, but across enough leagues (i play in three), it's worth taking the stab, if applicable (at the expense of expendable end of bench garbage). :dunno:

Dudes shifty man and he looks like a way better Verren? No?

Every player has a highlight or two on their resume.

Vereen caught 11 passes in the Super Bowl.

Let's not get carried away here

I don't get this Dion Lewis situation. The guy disappeared for 2 years after he broke his leg before the 2013 season. Now he's supposed to start over James White and Travaris Cadet. Are White and Cadet that bad that a guy who literally hasn't played a game in 2 years can come in and beat them out for touches?

He is listed behind Bolden on their depth chart, but their depth chart lists a 2 RB set w/ 1) Blount, 2) White, 3)Cadet in the other RB slot. Not sure what's going on there maybe someone can clear this up if they're not too busy with the 'Patriots cheating' threads........

I want to make sure I read this correctly...you want someone to clear up the patriots RB depth chart?

He grassed the ball last week. I'm worried cadet will start over him as soon as he's right.

I'm waiting a few weeks to see how his usage goes. Like any NE running back his production will probably depend on the game-plan and it isn't easy to predict (by design)
