Powerball 1.3 Billion

Recommended Posts

This for sure. Give me 2mil and I'll never work again and be content. People get so greedy. I was arguing with my wife. I said always take the lump sum no matter how much they screw you. I said if I won the 600mil and they even offered me 10mil Id take it in a heartbeat. She flipped and said I was crazy. Bird in hand, I want for sure money now. If I took the payments something wacky would happen and someone would screw me and Id get nothing, I know it. Give me the lump sum even if it's complete and utter robbery.

I wouldnt retire on 2 mil. I would make a lot more, over a million more at least, if i worked. The benefit loss alone like contributions to 401k, insurance, and pension wouldnt be worth not working. But i would never care if i was laid off.

I'd go full Navin Johnson.

I don't need the remote control, chair, or dog either. I am however going to pick out a thermos for all of you.

No. The shots at happy hour carry over for a grand total of........missed calculation and a belly button kiss.

I am damn good at math and I still purchased some tickets.

However, I somehow still think that the $10 that I spent on PowerBall was a better spend of my "tax" dollars than the tens of thousands that my local, state and federal governments piss away every year. :dunno:

This is said a lot and while it's technically correct if you're looking at $ spent vs odds of winning (most of the time) it's pretty bad thinking in practice. While the odds of winning only say it's worth it if you're guaranteed to win $600M (without splitting) the lifestyle change between winning $50m and $600m is probably very similar for most people (travel when/where you want, never work again, help family out, etc..). So really, if you consider $50m (or $10m, or $95m or whatever it is) to give you the same life change as $600m (or $1.5b, or $900m, or whatever it is) then it's not really that bad of a play.

Plus, the 3 days of dreaming about what I'd do if I won has *some* value.

If you're the only person playing, yes. I read somewhere that statistically speaking 2.2 people should have won last night due to the number of tickets sold so that brings the ev down.

What's the under over of when these 3 tickets are cashed / claimed ?

Last night was the first night I have ever bought lottery tickets. I bought 5 of them.

How do I tell if I won 4 bucks. One of them matches 2 numbers.

The winner from California is a multi-millionaire who spent $30,000 on tickets. There is no God.

I heard that was fake but that he does have the same name as some investment banker in CA. At least, that's what the guys that work for me said.

I agree. I play my numbers 2X a week but when it gets to a big jackpot I get the non players involved for a pool.
