Penny's was handing out shirts to everyone the day of the Challenger explosion.  There were many casual tees.

That means it's been exactly 35 years and 1 day since I heard this joke:

What color were Kristin McCullough's eyes ???

BLUE !!!   One blew left and one blew right.

I took off school that day and remember that day perfectly. Rambo just came out on video and was waiting for my friends down the block to finish watching it so I could borrow it. Eventually went down and got Rambo. Walked in my door after to see that live. Upsetting but still watch Rambo after.

Not exciting I just remember. They had it on a tv in lunch room I watched a little then left before the explosion. Some dude who I remember being a bit goofy came in and blurted it out in Art class in middle school. People ignored him but the teacher said it was true and let us go leave to go watch the news.

I was Studying for the Bar Exam.  I was about to leave my apartment to go to a BarBri review course when it happened.  My room mate had the T.V. on. I must have watched that video a dozen times before i finally left to go study.

I was in high school walking through the library and these two goofballs were horsing around throwing paper airplanes.  The librarian yelled at them, “Knock it off!  The space shuttle just crashed!”  The kids both looked ashamed and one of them said, “Sorry, I didn’t know.”  The things you remember.

Some of those fruity, colored licquors they put in chicks drinks confuse me, along, with all the aperitifs.  For me, if they have cold tap beer and whisky, preferably scotch but bourbon has its place, well I am good.

Pretty sure they didn't cause the crash with their horseplay.

It was my first "Kennedy-type" moment. An event seismic enough that you remember where you were, who you were with, what you were doing when your first heard the news. Too bad there have been several others since.
