IGotWorms 4,060 Posted March 17, 2016 http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2016/03/16/gop-senators-vow-not-consider-garland-fill-supreme-court-vacancy/81856428/ WASHINGTON Republican senators remained adamant Wednesday that they will not consider President Obama's Supreme Court nominee, saying that nothing has changed now that Obama's choice has been revealed. The president announced that he was nominating Merrick Garland, chief judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, to fill the vacancy created by the death of Justice Antonin Scalia in February. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said it is important for the Senate to "give the people a voice in the filling of this vacancy" by waiting until the next president takes office. McConnell's office said he gave Garland that message in a phone call with the nominee Wednesday. "The American people may well elect a president who decides to nominate Judge Garland for Senate consideration," McConnell said. "The next president may also nominate someone very different. Either way, our view is this: Give the people a voice." The American people DID elect a president and re-elected him, ya focking deadbeat moron

DankNuggs 305 Posted March 17, 2016 I love it.... Republicans have to go all in on Trump, and they are risking a moderate justice in hand for a potential liberal moonbat if HIllary gets in. How much more conservative a justice would trump nominate? Seems like the risks are greater than the rewards here. But maybe they take up the hearing just before the election as a backup plan. Can still deny, but if hillary wins they can bank the moderate

All the while the American Public gets to see on the biggest scale what they have been doing for 8 years, obstructionist temper tantrum politics. Sure that plays to the 6th grade crowd---but it will cost them the entire middle come Nov.

Hmmm, that seems a bit different than today's situation.

It appears that you're just mad because you mowed the front yard but not the back yard and that crazy b!tch mother of yours won't take you to the park. Good Effort - now stop focking acting bewildered why people will vote for Donald Trump, Kim Kardashian, and Mickey Mouse before any of the incumbent ass wholes. Agreed and Agreed and a big Fail. The problem is that electing Donald Trump is only going to make all this bickering, arguing, hyper partisan non sense worse, not better. That's the whole problem with your last sentence. A+ for effort, but F for choice of execution. There is a way to combat this. By electing people who are going to push for term limits. By electing people who have history of working across the aisle. By electing people who push for policies regarding more transparency in campaign spending. Pushing for elimination of election laws that make it where two stale parties operate without fear of competition (Libertarian). Etc. Etc. That's how you combat partisanship and the status quo in Washington. Not electing reality TV stars who are more divisive than the people already there. I get the sentiment, but the choice of execution sucks balls.
Sho Nuff 720 Posted March 17, 2016 They learned from the best. Reminiscent of Reid and Pelosi during the Bush years. Not even close. This group has been far worse and more obstructionist. Its funny how much Trump people complain about wanting change from the same old same old crap out of congress...yet many of those same people are cheering on this foot dragging crap. Its political BS...and playing the...well, they did it, is just crap. Oh, and Reid and Pelosi never refused to have a hearing about a nominee like this, have they/?
