I roll my eyes @ people who are trying to turn Trump's crude comments into sexual assault. Making a pass at a woman and getting shot down is now assault? He also said he can begin kissing them / grabbing them. Trump did not say he has actually done this in a case where it was unwelcome.

 

The man's a pig. If he were actually found guilty of sexual harassment or assault it wouldn't surprise me because of what we know about him. But to make the leap that this audio is evidence of actual assault is irresponsible and should be insulting to the people who have been assaulted.

 

I also roll my eyes at the people who are comparing Trump's own words to the actions of Hillary's husband, or the fact that she reportedly bullied, harassed, etc. his accusers. Those are all rumors and it's at least plausible that Hillary believed whatever story her husband told her and was repeating it.

From his experience, a LOT of Republicans have been siick of Trump for quite a while. He certainly didn't make any friends in the Primaries and his overall boorish behavior and disdain for 'the issues' really turned many GOP off.

 

However, they felt like they had to back the Republican nominee regardless. It's not like suddenly this one audio leak changed their opinions of him as much as it gave them a convenient "out". Then Ryan came out and gave them 'permission' to do exactly that - to keep the GOP from blowing up in the down ballot as well.

 

Makes sense. So, far all those saying "he just said some bad words", no, it was the last straw on an amalgam of ignorance and unprofessionalism and immaturity and enemy making over the course of the Primaries and General. As lifetime Republicans,, they just can't stomach the idea of Trump being the face of the party.
