cyclone24 1,935 Posted December 31, 2016 If we make it until 11pm central...I'll be impressed. Wifey and I will crack open some 15 year old Nicaraguan rum, have a few drinks...call it a night. Nothing major.

Djgb13 2,339 Posted December 31, 2016 Heading down to the beach. They've got this southern New Year's Eve thing going on that has live bands, food, drinks, shops, a New Year's Eve ball they drop, and fireworks

They've got this southern New Year's Eve thing going on that has live bands, food, drinks, shops, a New Year's Eve ball they drop, and fireworks I always wondered what a "southern" New Year's Eve was like. fandandy 3,313 Posted December 31, 2016 Nothing really. My daughter is here so we will stay up and watch the ball drop and be on the lookout for Ahmed the trucker taking the ole mooslim shortcut through a crowd of people.

Bier Meister 1,750 Posted December 31, 2016 Our younger selves would be sad reading this thread. sure, but i am not single, do not love being out on the roads with a higher concentration of drunk drivers, do not need to overspend on a party (ie: hotels, etc). much rather hang out with friends/family with higher quality beverages and food without the hassle..

Yep...havent been "out" for NYE since ringing in the new millenium on The Mall in D.C. Over priced and not worth the hassle. I usually swap shifts with a younger guy for Thanksgiving, kids birthday, etc

MDC 7,881 Posted December 31, 2016 Had an offer to have family watch the kids so the wife and I could go out but I declined. Dinner / drinks / hotels are wildly overpriced tonight and the roads are full of drunks. We will order some take out, have a few drinks, toast the NY at midnight and be in bed by 12:15. Cruzer 1,996 Posted December 31, 2016 I hear some are complaining that Uber may hike prices up 3x 2nite. Some rides may cost upwards of $150. To that I say - that's about $9850 cheaper than a focking DWI!

jerryskids 7,083 Posted December 31, 2016 Just got back from Dim Sum with about 15 friends, that's the extent of our going out plans. May drop my daughter off back at ASU for a party she is attending; we are paying for her Uber as needed tonight (don't care what it costs). Younger daughter has some get together with friends. I'll probably give my wife my throbbing pencil of love at some point.

vuduchile 1,947 Posted December 31, 2016 Making dinner for the family, letting the kids stay up as late as they can playing board games and watching the various crappy countdown shows. As soon as they go to sleep, it's on. My wife was gonna wash all the sheets today. I told her to wait until tomorrow.

MDC 7,881 Posted December 31, 2016 That's a tough one. Is mom over protective type ? Yes but she's a pushover - mom said no and she's bickering etc. Wife asked me and I said I wouldn't let her go. If there was a destination in mind OK. A bunch of teenagers wandering around center city on NYE is just asking for trouble.

cbfalcon 827 Posted December 31, 2016 First the part that makes me sound the coolest: My firm plan is to meet some friends downtown around 7pm. But beyond that I have a hot FBuddy type that wants me to come over to a party at her house. I asked her if there would be other cute girls that for me to make out with or if I was stuck with her. She said i can have either.......and then there is another girl that I've never actually been with yet, but I just told her she needs to end up where I'm at later so we can make out at midnight. I'm the coolest. Now the part that reveals my uncoolness: I am afraid of the DWI, and I am about 97% sure I have low T now. And most importantly, I have a 10am tee time. So when these factors are all put together, the odds of me finding that boozy sweet spot that makes me care enough about sex to do anything more than have 3-4 drinks and come home by 9pm are not good. I'm the uncoolest.
