I knew a girl in college who rowed crew (beefy girl, can size not much) who gave me a hard time that baseball and golf were not sports. I argued back that crew was not a sport but rather a test of physical prowess, on the basis that I defined a sport as needing a ball or similar projectile which accomplished the scoring. Baseball, basketball, football, hockey all sports. As are golf, curling, darts, and billiards. Crew, not so much.

I didn't really believe that but it had a great trolling effect. :D

So your qualifying factors are:

Must be standing

Must include ball

Thats it?

As a multi-sport athlete all my life, I simply know what takes athleticism and what doesn't. I'm not saying there's no skill involved in racing. But to call guys sitting on their asses all day turning left an athlete, is certainly a stretch. Also, if women can compete at the same level as men, it's probably safe to say it's not a real sport. Some of these records I could see broken, wilt Chamberlain's record seems the most likely to fall of those listed. Kobe got fairly close.

I suggest you educate yourself on the physical demands of Indy car racing.

Climbing takes a lot of athleticism, but many wouldn't call it a sport. If you do, Alex Honnold's recent free solo of El Capitan is arguably the greatest athletic accomplishment ever, and won't be repeated.

Clearly you know nothing about racing and it isn't worth arguing with someone that doesn't know what the hell they are talking about.

translation: I have no legit argument to your point that women can compete with men, so I'll pretend you don't know enough to argue with me. Bwahahaha.

Not unbreakable, but the MLB would have to fundamentally change for Ricky Henderson's 1400 stolen bases to be threatened. Ichiro is the active leader with 508, and Elvis Andrus's 256 is the highest for anyone under 30.

I think this could be broken. a smallish white guy that can shoot the lights out but doesn't have enough overall game to make it in the NBA. Think Jimmer Fredette.

Great one. I've argued he is the greatest baseball player of all time; based on he was so much better at what he did (leadoff and disrupt games) than anyone else ever.

Vince Colemen would have broken the record if the cheating royals didn't roll a tarp over his knee

In his defense, he probably didn't realize he was supposed to pay for them.
